Join Us For Our “Parents Of Tomorrow” Orientation Weekends
Abrazo’s renowned orientation weekends truly distinguish our adoption program from all the others.
Entering the adoption process and deciding which resources to use is a major investment, financially and emotionally, one that some rightfully see as being their very first parenting decision. This is not a decision (nor investment) to be made lightly, and at Abrazo, we appreciate that. Adoption launches new lifetime relationships, so we think it’s crucial for adoption professionals and agency clients to ensure “goodness of fit” between the parties right from the start.
For this reason, Abrazo invites qualified applicants to come spend a weekend with our staff, before making any contractual agreements to work together. Our “Parents of Tomorrow” orientation weekends enable Abrazo to help prepare prospective clients for their adoption journey in a fun, friendly and energizing retreat, in which they learn all the steps that lead to Placement Day, and make lasting friendships with 8-12 other prospective families from all over the nation.
Our orientation weekends begin here in wonderful San Antonio on a Friday evening, and conclude with a celebratory Fiesta dinner on Saturday night. Attendance at a Parents of Tomorrow orientation weekend is mandatory for all entrants into Abrazo’s Milagros (full-service) placement program; attendance is optional for all others. The fee is $299 per family and includes snacks and libations on Friday evening, as well as all meals on Saturday. (All fees are nonrefundable upon payment; travel and hotel accommodations are additional. All attendees stay at the official host hotel, whether from out-of-town or local residents, so all benefit equally from this weekend experience.)
Abrazo holds its Parents of Tomorrow weekends in San Antonio every other month (see Abrazo’s Forum calendar for scheduling information) participation is by invitation only, and space is extremely limited. Participating families must have approved inquiry forms and applications on file in order to qualify to attend.
Families wishing to complete the homestudy process in advance of attending orientation are urged to consult this article on Homestudy Requirements to ensure that the study is done in compliance with Texas requirements, thereby avoiding additional costs and delays for corrections later on.
Abrazo’s Parents of Tomorrow orientation weekends are truly a life-changing experience, which empower you to take control of your family’s destiny and launch a much-needed psychological pregnancy bound to result in the eventual homecoming of your precious new son or daughter. But don’t just take our word for it; read the testimonials of former orientation graduates! They’ve been where you are, and they’re living proof that it’s not a question of “if?”… it’s only a matter of “when!”
