Join Abrazo’s Life-Changing Adoption Orientation Weekends

NOTE: Out of concern for our prospective adoptive couples, orientation weekends have been postponed until the COVID-19 pandemic is completely resolved. Qualified applicants may be invited to enjoy expedited admission into Abrazo’s program by completing equivalent online training hours in lieu of weekend orientation attendance, until further notice.

Why Abrazo’s Adoption Orientation Stands Out

Entering the adoption process and deciding which resources to use is a major investment, financially and emotionally, one that some rightfully see as being their very first parenting decision. A group of prospective parents attentively participates in a discussion during an adoption orientation, seated around tables in a classroom setting. This is not a decision (nor investment) to be made lightly, and at Abrazo, we appreciate that. Adoption launches new lifetime relationships, so we think it’s crucial for adoption professionals and agency clients to ensure “goodness of fit” between the parties right from the start.

Adoption Orientation: Preparing for Your Journey in San Antonio

For this reason, Abrazo invites qualified applicants to come spend a weekend with our staff, before making any contractual agreements to work together. Our “Parents of Tomorrow” orientation weekends enable Abrazo to help prepare prospective clients for their adoption journey in a fun, friendly and energizing retreat, in which they learn all the steps that lead to Placement Day, and make lasting friendships with 8-12 other prospective families from all over the nation.

What to Expect at Our Adoption Orientation Weekends

Our orientation weekends begin here in wonderful San Antonio on a Friday evening, and conclude with a celebratory Fiesta dinner on Saturday night.
