A Texas adoption gives each adoptee not just roots and wings, but bragging rights, as well. They may grow up anywhere, but their bloodline runs deep in Texas.
Each year, Abrazo adoptees, their birthparents and adoptive families gather at a Texas dude ranch for Camp Abrazo. They have two families, yet just one birthplace, and that’s Texas, y’all.
In Texas adoption remains a positive option. It’s for those facing unwanted pregnancies. And at Abrazo, it’s also for parents who are unable to continue caring for their kids for any reason.
As a licensed Texas adoption agency, we go anywhere in the state that we are needed. Abrazo provides nonprofit adoption services in San Antonio. We do Austin adoption. Houston adoption. Adoptions in Dallas/Fort Worth. El Paso adoptions. Adoption in Amarillo. Abilene adoption, Adoption in Killeen and adoption in Temple. Waco adoption and Beaumont adoptions, Adoption in Texarkana. In Texas Adoption is Safe
Texas is considered an adoption-friendly state, for hopeful adopters and for prospective birthparents. Birthparents here can place newborns for adoption 2 days after birth, if they feel ready to make that choice. And irrevocable relinquishments surrendering rights to a licensed Texas adoption agency are final. That means there are no legal reclaims here, so adopting parents can bond after placement without fear. And Texas law permit licensed agencies like Abrazo to help placing mothers with needed financial support for basic living expenses before and after the birth.
Mothers in Texas do not necessarily need a babydaddy who ghosted them to be involved in the adoption planning. If they are not married to anyone and there’s no father listed on the birth certificate or they’re unsure of the father’s identity, placing moms can make a confidential adoption plan on their own.
And in Texas, there is no age of consent for adoption, so teens can place without their parents’ involvement if they choose to do so. (Even though abortion would require a minor parent’s permission. Go figure.)
Texas adoption laws do prohibit adoptees from accessing their original birth certificate later in life, if they don’t know both birthparents’ names. (However, Abrazo provides a courtesy copy upon any adult adoptee’s formal request, whenever we’re able to do so, because we believe adoptees deserve their own birth record.)
Texas Adoption Options are Needed
Texas’ strict bans on abortion make Texas adoption alternatives even more important. Why? Because no amount of free diapers, formula and parenting classes can make a lifetime parenting commitment easy. The Texas Pregnancy Care Network receives millions of dollars in state funding, yet the support they offer parents ends abruptly when any child turns three. That’s just about the age at which little ones are particularly vulnerable to child abuse. (And Texas, sadly, does have a statewide problem with both poverty and child abuse/neglect. As well as parental addiction.)
Abrazo is a Texas adoption agency that (unlike many others) welcomes those who need to make adoption plans for babies as well as toddlers, sibling groups and older kids. We’re different from safe haven baby boxes (which only offer care for babies up to 60 days) and adoption agencies that only want to care for newborns.
We provide judgement-free support and Texas adoption plans for any parent or guardian who cares enough about a child or children to make a loving permanent plan for their future/s. And our open adoption program enables birthparents to stay in touch with the adoptive family, if everybody agrees.
