Great News Evelyn & Ryan! We have a daughter that is turning 20 tomorrow (from Denver's previous marriage). When I married Denver, I also became a mother to a 10 year old (she has always lived with her dad). So when we started the adoption process she was thrilled. She loves her baby brother and he loves her. It melts my heart when he sees her and he gets so excited. She lives on her own now and she is always calling to check on him or to see if she can watch him for a few hours here and there. She is always happy to have him but always glad to be able to give him back. She said she can definitely tell she does not want any children for a long time. lol Which I'm glad to hear, she needs to finish college. I believe your daughter will be thrilled to have a baby brother/sister and be so excited "when" it happens. So happy for your growing family. Looking forward to following your journey. Welcome Danette!! Welcome to the forum. You will find a lot fo information and always so many willing to help in any way. We are also from KY and we used Adoption Assistance based out of Danville, KY, but they have several different social workers in different areas in KY and TN. The cost in 2008 was $1500. They were great to work with. We loved our social worker. I agree $7 k seems waaaaay to high. Tracey

It is great to see you post! I love to hear the honesty about taking time to "Get It". I believe that is true for all of us and our families. Until we were educated at orientation we did not really "Get It" completely either. Now as we educate our families and friends it is amazing to watch them grow and get it too. I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I am going to put it here. I heard about Abrazo from my niece's daycare. The sweet ladies that took care of my niece are good friends with a lady who adopted through Abrazo and lives in the same area that I do. She actually adopted a baby girl and then also adopted her older sister too. I was given her phone number and we talked for over an hour about adoption, Abrazo and children. She had great things to say about Abrazo and went on and on. Then we began our research and signed onto the forum to learn even more before we signed up with Abraz. I never had the opportunity to meet her face to face but had only talked to her a couple more times after our first conversation. I believe she had kept up with us through my nieces daycare. My niece now is in school and we went to her school festival on Saturday and we ran into Elaine and her two beautiful daughters. It was nice to meet her face to face. It was crowded so we didn't have a great opportunity to talk. But as she walked away I felt a little sentimental(spelling?), I thought to myself that just one conversation and this lady helped change our lives in a wonderful way. She told us about Abrazo! My abrazo babe is almost two years old and I STILL jump everytime I get a "restricted" phone call. I got a call like that Saturday and had to smile really big when my heart skipped a beat. (This time it was someone calling me about a craigslist posting.) Holding my breath with you Jim & Laura Suzi, That makes me laugh to hear you say that. My heart too still keeps a beat when I see "private caller" on my cell phone or home phone. I do not get them very often. But I always think "could that be Abrazo" takes me back to the time when you never went anywhere without your cell phone. Welcome Jim & Laura!!! Tracey
