  1. Congratulations, Dee & Bart. Payton Cassidy! Wow! What wonderful, terrific, fabulous news!
  2. The fact that hundreds of women have already applied for the program shows the desperation that so many of us have felt while in the middle of our own infertility issues. However, I cannot imaging choosing such an option.
  3. Putting up a praise -- Alicia had her six-month well baby checkup today. She came home in September at 11.5 pounds. Today, she weighed 19.5 pounds! She's doing so well and both girls are so happy. What better to praise than that?
  4. Congratulations! One bundle of pink is fabulous -- two are super terrific!
  5. Brian & Gail -- We are SO thrilled for and with you. Congratulations on your happy and healthy baby new year. We can't wait for pictures, but we definitely understand that you're a little busy right now! We can't wait to see the newest fishy and find our her name. Whoo hoo! Another girl fishy! What a terrific way to start my day.
  6. Hey, that's us! It's absolutely true that being prepared keeps you one step ahead. Also -- make sure you have a TON of good pictures of yourselves -- you and Joe -- for your profile. You're going to need a bunch. David and I didn't have many recent ones and spent an entire afternoon staging shots of us doing things together that we normally do but that we don't normally take pictures of! I know the paperwork can be overwhelming. But I promise you that it's all worth it. After so many years of diasappointment, Cynthia and Alicia are the miracles that make the journey worthwhile. Many blessings on YOUR journey.
  7. Congratulations, Sharron. What a WONDERFUL Christmas you must have had. I hope your 2007 is full and fabulous!
  8. We were one of those couples!! So were we!
  9. Congratulations ... a beautiful name and a beautiful story.
  10. Ouch! I think we may need to move. With our two girls, living where we do, we're looking at more than $1.2 million. Luckily we didn't have to come up with that upfront! But you know, when I really, really think about it ... who cares? I would so give up all of my material wealth and maybe a limb or two for those little fishies of ours!
  11. What a great day. Who knew Thursday would be so remarkable? Congratulations, Nick & Sara.
  12. Congratulations, Grandma. I hope your wait is short! When she finally comes home, everyone out of the way. Grandma gets first rights to give that baby lots of hugs and kisses.
  13. What a beautiful family! And such a sweet, sweet baby girl. We hope you have a lovely time in San Antonio with your little pink bundle of joy.
  14. Beautiful! Congratulations Tens and happy birthday young mother. We all know you have made the most wonderful gift and most heartbreaking decision of a lifetime. May God smile on you today and always.
  15. Neither can we! Let's see some pictures and celebrate the fabulous joy of placement with another happy family.
  16. What a sweet family. And I love the name Olivia! I hope things work out that this new Abrazo family finds their way to the forum. What a super place! Congratulations.
  17. Good grief, I thought we'd been busy! But it looks like that stork has been having a wild ride this month. Congratulations to all the new families. What a wonderful, fabulous time!
  18. Yippee! What a wonderful blessing. Congratulations and have fun.
  19. What a wonderful ceremony. The significance of infant baptism is so special. And we appreciate you sharing your words, thoughts and pictures.
  20. I would like to thank God for leading us to this place, during this time. We are grateful and humbled to become a part of this loving community. The faith and strength we see here are true gifts from God. And thank you, God, for the family we are to become. Amen.
  21. Hi Amanda. Don't you just love the gallery?!? I think I spend about an hour each night checking out the new pictures or the older ones that I haven't gotten to yet. Most people who know what David and I have been through think it's difficult to look at pictures of other people's babies. They are so wrong! While I'll always be sad that we aren't able to make a baby the old fashioned way, I will always love babies! All babies! And the sweet ones shown here are so amazing. Hope you enjoy your nursery preparation. We had so much fun painting and getting the room ready!
  22. Hi Amanda. My husband and I are also new to the forum. We will be attending the September orientation and are so excited! I know what a thrill it is to get started! David and I went shopping for just a few things immediately after we started our homestudy. By the time the homestudy was completed, we had the nursery almost completely done. And our homestudy was done fast! Loans -- We found that our credit union had the best possible rates for a loan. If you're not already a member of a federal credit union, you can join one by being a family member of someone who is already a member. Some have even more lenient joining rules. Credit unions generally have better loan rates all around! I can't wait to follow your story. You'll find that the forum folks have a TON of information to share. Read, read, read! It's not only valuable, it's highly entertaining. I'm afraid I've become addicted! Good luck and God bless ... and do your best to avoid those giant buzzing horrors down there that y'all call mosquitos!
  23. No WAY are you in Rockville! We're just down the beltway in Centreville. I think the Abrazo note about "general" information was probably directed at us. I was just about to call and make sure they got the application -- even though I sent it Express mail and got the confirmation myself. We're just a little anxious, can't you tell!
  24. Hi everyone. My husband and I have just sent in our application and are now on pins and needles waiting to find out if we made it in time for the September orientation. (I've been "lurking" in this forum for about two weeks. There is some AMAZING information here!) This will be our first child and we are so excited. We've been planning for this baby for years. We just didn't have a clue where he or she would come from! I'm glad to see there are other "newbies" out there. Maybe somebody could give provide a dictionary for what some of the acronyms mean. I'm new to this whole chatting thing and I want to make sure I get it right. Anyone else heading to Texas from Virginia?
