How do you know if your family is complete yet? Walker said, within the first week that Camille was home he wanted to adopt again. The statement was not something I had not spent so much time praying about, it just struck me as it was spoken with love, desire; without hesitation. This statement flooded my eyes with tears as I said," Thank You Lord!!" I will admit, some of the biggest points of contention for he and I were concerns and aspects surrounding fertility treatment, open adoption and finances involved. Rightfully so, but it made it so much more difficult as we both questioned every hurdle within the obvious obstacles and drove our points home. Many times I wanted to give up, but I'd get that tap on my shoulder, go back, talk to him some more. Before the day Walker said he wanted to continue to build our family, I had questioned if in fact our dream of family were evenly yoked. Walker and I love and support one another undying, but I wondered if he recognized the desire within me and wanted to support me or if he too mirrored my desire. That question was answered for me many times during and after orientation. Yet, honestly answered for himself when Camille was placed in his arms only minutes after birth. Walker is the father I saw the day I met him, and now recognizes this within himself. just yesterday I said to my girlfriend, I'm ready to do this again. And this time is without question, Walker and I are discussing and praying for our second time around. so, How do you Know if your family is complete yet? For me? It's God whom speaks to your heart and shows others and yourself so much we never knew! Including a wife who just could not understand how her husband didn't see the wonderful father she saw: within himself.
