As the adoptive couple departed, Windsor wailed and sobbed with unbelievable passion. Hers was pure grief. Pure despair. She was in agony. I was in agony. My heart broke doubly--first for the loss of my grandchild, then for my own child as I watched her disintegrate in front of my eyes. I could do nothing to comfort Windsor, nothing to help her. I could not make the pain go away. There was now a permanent hole in my daughter's heart, a hole I could not fill. Her grief was deeper than what many people experience in a lifetime, yet she was only seventeen. Most of her friends had just learned to drive. Sue, I too read this book before we chose an agency for adoption. It's definitely one I will go back to and read again!

We love Camille's birth siblings, and you know, they love us too. Not because we send them pictures, notes, gifts or cards. They Thank us for letting Camille be with them every chance they get. We are looking forward to having them vacation here in SA and the opportunity to help our BirthGrandmother (who adopted the first 4) take them to Sea World and the area attractions. Walker and I are beaming that these kids will have a vacation experience with us. Life is great!

Great topic... This makes me smile as I remember my Moms first visit after Camille's placement. She told me to take it easy and not lift that box. I looked at her in question and she laughed and said, I'm sorry Nita, I keep forgetting you didn't just give birth. I know that Camille and my Mom have a special relationship that is bonded. Camille is at ease with my Mom and can do almost anything I can without Camille's protest. Even with all the miles that separate us, I chalk it up to familiarity of the love she knows through me. She's Maw-Maw's baby too, just like all her other grandchildren. The other evidence that has come up several times is; when I mention our birthfamily to my family. They have each told me that they forget Camille is adopted and has extended family. Yet, prays for our Bparents peace and comfort. Camille is not treated any different than the bio-kids. My brothers make a point to give her extra special attention as she is the baby. She just gets the top seat on their shoulders while they play with all the other kids. She loves it!

We feel the same way and are on our second journey with Abrazo. I'm loving the whirlwind, and yes, it is exciting and blessed. Hey, we've got walking, climbing jabbering 18 month old proof that this is the best decision we ever made! While I cannot answer your question about your homestudy, especially being it is international, I know who can!!!
