Congrats to the new family!!!

WOW, small world!! I live in a suburb to fayetteville, basically have to go to fayetteville for everything. I am from TN here by way of military. We have been here for 5 years now!!

As far as Charlie, we actually adopted him from Russia, the middle of Siberia to be exact. It was a wonderful experience, as I am sure the next one will be also. Russia , thats awesome!!! I have a friend in TN who adopted from China. We have had a wonderful experience with our birth family, they live in Indiana. We don't see them often but we do talk. We have an open adoption with them. I am hoping our next experience will be just as awesome!!! We are planning on visiting them when we visit Nashville in September, I can't wait to get home. I am planning on being there for all most 2 weeks!!! YEAH!!! Okay, off to catch Hunter is in to everything!! Talk to you soon.

Andrea, we are about 1 1/2 hours to Goldsboro, so not to far!!! I know what you mean about being antsy, my son is not even 1 yet. I am ready to start the process though!! I know that its all God's timing reguardless of how antsy we get though. I love reading about all the placements, brings back all the feelings of adopting Hunter. He is our little angel. I know you feel the same. Did you adopt from an agency in TN?? If so which one?? My best friend is still in TN actually in Franklin and they have adopted as well. Hey there, I grew up in Antioch and went to Antioch High School, class of 91. I miss home so much but then again its nice to be 1 1/2 hours to the beach!!!! Where is your husbands family in NC?? I am so jealous of all the TN people, I think I am all alone over here in NC. I usually visit TN 3-4 times a year. As far as the orientation schedule there is one Sept 8th, I think and then in November. We are hoping to be invited to the November one but we shall see!! Hopefully we can attend the same weekend. From the sound of it, orientation seems incredible. I can't wait to attend. I look forward to following your journey as well!!

Michelle and Mike (and others)- I've been reading for a while and just decided to jump in and see if I could figure this thing out. We sent our inquiry in around the same time, about 2 1/2 weeks ago and are anxiously awaiting a response so we can get started. It is aweaome to be able to read all the wonderful stories of those who have been there and done that. We are not technichally againers b/c we have never used Abrazo, but we did adopt our now 3yo son, Charlie, 2 years ago this month. We also felt led to Abrazo for our 2nd adoption and here we are! There are so many TN families!!! I am from Nashville and live in NC now. My husband is in the army and we are stationed at Ft Bragg. We have been here for 5 years. I miss TN so much!!! I do visit often since all my family is there. We aren't againers either our son was from another agency actually out of Indiana. Which orientation are you hoping to attend??? Hi all, well today we mailed our inquiry in to hopefully start the journey for our second angel!!! Our first wasn't placed thru Abrazo but we knew we wanted our second to be an Abrazo baby. We were due to be a part of the Summer Strollers July 05 but matched with our birth mom 3 weeks before. Both of us are very excited to start and be a part of the Abrazo family.

Hi Susan, We were due to go to orientation in July and matched with another agency 3 weeks before the orientation weekend. The ladies at Abrazo were awesome to talk to and always have great advice. I know when we go for our second we will be travelling to Texas. We to live in NC actually we live in Fayetteville. Good luck on your journey, I don't think you can go wrong choosing Abrazo.

Kristen, Excited is an understatement, 26 days left but whose counting!!! I understand the moving, luckily we have only relocated 1 time since we have been married. Thank God cause like you it makes me crazy. I did 5 pages for the profile but I am not sure how many thet like. I am actually going to send it to them to get there feed back so I can change what needs to done now. When will you be back in the states? We did find out that between 2008-2009 they move our entire group to Florida but I definitley won't complain about that. I am ready for a change of scenerie, we have been here 4 years in Sept. MLW, You should really go ahead and send your stuff in you never know they may allow you to go ahead and attend July. Call and ask, they are really helpful.

Kristen, I glad to meet you too. I was hoping to find another military couple to chat with. I mailed our formal app off about 3 weeks ago but still don't have the confirmation letter. I am anxiously awaiting. It took me about 2 weeks to get the formal filled out because like you I want to make sure it reflected our feelings. It is really hard to go that on paper. If you want I can email you a couple of my profile pages you you can see them. S&L who are also military and have adopted twice with Abrazo is who helped me out. She has been a wonderful help. That is a huge move, Germany to NM. How long have yaou guys been in Germany? I know we will never make it overseas with what Mike does. We did recently find out that they might move us to Florida and I am super happy about that. We have been here for almost 4 years. I got to talk to Mike last night. I think him calling as much as he does is what got me thru this. THis is the longest we have been away from each other, he left Nov 19th. Kristen, Hey there, we are from North Carolina. I have started on my profile but not sure if its "the one". I plan on taking what I have done and see what our ideas I can come up with after seeing the examples. I agree the profile are stressful and I am not to creative but I have had a little help. Actually someone I met on the forum sent me hers so I could get an idea on what they look like. Have you got your confirmation letter about July? I am excited yet so nervous about the process. When are you guys moving back to the states? Is your hubbie military? My husband is in the army and actually deployed till around June 25th. I can't wait till he returns. One tip someone told me about the profiles was that action pictures are good. Hope that helps. Michelle

We live in NC and are having to update our homestudy sinceits almost 1 year old. The price we were quoted is 650.00. I guess all states are different on cost. Michelle

Elaine, I am originally from Nashville, Tn. I moved with husband in Sept 01 but had lived there for 28 years. We are now in North Carolina, my husband is stationed at Fort Bragg. Thank you guys for all the comments. Its nice to hear good things about the agency. It amazes me at how fast people have been placed. We are hoping to be invited to the July or Sept orientation due to my husband being out of the country, hazard of the job. Mom2b, I am so glad to hear from another miltary couple. For some reason agencies NC don't like to work with miltary couples, I actually even had one refuse to talk to me at all. Again thanks to you all for the comforting words.

Hi, all we are new to the adoption process and was hoping you would have some insight on the process and what to expect. I mailed our initial inquiry form yesterday. How long does it take to hear from Abrazo? We have been working with an agency here in NC where we live but have become very dissatisfied with them. In 6 months they haven't even show our profile once which is upsetting. They have told us that because we are military it could take much longer. If anyone here is military or knows someone who has adopted thats military, I would love to hear from you.
