  1. What a sweet baby and very happy Mommy and Daddy!! Thanks for posting pictures of the new family.
  2. What a timely topic. We go to the church that Chris went to almost all his life. He was a youth director once and for a year we were members of another church, but other than that Chris has been in this church since he was a newborn. It is a nice some-what small church in the country. My favorite thing about our church is it is very friendly and has a very active children's and youth ministry. Chris and I teach the "young married" Sunday School class. We have a blast teaching this class together, it makes us feel young! One of the biggest problems that our church is facing now is something very common throughtout the country. We have several people that want our church to only sing the old traditional songs and never stray to the more modern music and then of course we have others that want more of a contemporary song service. When I look at the problems facing many churches today our problem seems minor, but as one of those that like the more modern music the problem seems huge. I believe this problem has keep our church from reaching some of the younger families in the area, which is how a church can grow.
  3. This little girl was truly blessed to have such a kind and loving person visting with her.
  4. I joined the forum right after orientation in May of 2002, but did not post until that August. I was really nervous. I wasn't sure if I posted right. My first impression of the forum was this really large place full of people way smarter than me when it came to adoption. At the beginnig I would get on the forum once every few months or so, boy have things changed. I was in amazement of open adoption when I first got to the forum. Like I said before, I first visited the forum the day after orientation, so I was on an "orientation high". Some of my closest friends are my friends from the forum. I have been lucky to meet some of them and others I only know through the forum. It still amazes me that there are so many others just like me out there.
  5. Wow, it did work Lisa! I just realized I wrote this post just six days before we talked to Monica and Ronnie for the first time and just seven days before we were matched with them. At the time I didn't think we would ever be parents. I remember at the time wondering if I was doing this whole forum thing correctly. I was very nervous about posting. Now four years and lots of post later, I am so thankful that I made that huge step into forum-land. Great topic.
  6. Congrats to this new family. I am so happy this little angel has found her home sweet home.
  7. Congarats to the new Mommy, Daddy and Grammy!! Happy Birthday to this very loving Mother. May your day be filled with loving family and friends.
  8. I have a praise. Monday night during Homecoming activities at The University of TN at Martin there was a Christian concert. Normally during Homecoming week the student body council brings in a rock or rap group. Last year they brought in The Ying-Yang Twins. This year the student council voted to bring in Sonic Flood. There were over 800 people there who got to hear about Jesus in a public university. Over 50 people made a formal commitment to some type of missions. On a side note, it was a awesome concert. If you ever get a chance to see Sonic Flood, I would do it!
  9. What a great praise! Chris used to be a youth director at a local church that had 2 youth. The Sunday School class we were in was for ages 65 and below. The church was slowly dying and most of the people there didn't really care. I truly understand your praise tonight. It is wonderful to leave church feeling filled instead of drained. Can't wait to see pictures of your little men playing ball!
  10. Wow, what a beautifully written article. Thanks for sharing and thanks to your mom for getting it.
  11. Inside Edition or one of those kind of shows showed Madonna coming out of a local gym while her baby was still in Africa with the Nanney.
