  1. WOW, its such a slow week at Abrazo, only 4 children placed Congratulations to all of the new parents, children & birthfamilies. Hoping for a smooth trnasition for all involved. What a wonderful journey you are all embarking on. Take lots of pictures and start a journal because it will all seem like a blur and time will fly. I get so much pleasure now whenever I revisit my well-documented journey and the memories come back so vividly. I remember little tidbits that I would have been sad to forget. ENJOY!!! Sandi
  2. CONGRATULATIONS to the new parents of little pink bundles..............Girls are wonderful and they do have the cutest little clothes. Enjoy your new daughters and take a moment every day to think about what a blessing you have. Enjoy, Sandi
  3. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR BEAUTIFUL LITTLE FLOWER............love the name Enjoy her, Girls are great. Sandi
  4. HHHHHMMMMM, I tried to start a Happy Passover post in the holiday storage area, so people like myself could wish others a good pesach and have at least 1 area on the holiday storage thread thats for a Jewish holiday. I was hoping that it would get moved there and I see it just got lumped together under the generic Jewish thread. Sandi
  5. Ok, I tried to start this topic under the holiday storage section and it told me that I didnt have permisiion to start a topic there  . So I thought I would post it her and then either Stork Central or the webmaster would put it where it belongs. So, that being said......HAPPY PASSOVER or GODD PESACH TO ALL Last night we went to my sisters house and had a great sedar (what we call the passover meal/celebration). It was Skye's 1st and she was very good thru the whole thing which is quite long. We read from the hagadah (book that tells the story of Passover that we read and all take turns reading), hid the afficomen (sp?)which is matzah that is hidden for the kids to find and then they get a present......however, my mom gets a present for all the kids no matter what. Skye really liked all of the singing and laughing that went on as did I. When it came time for the meal, she LOVED the Matzah ball soup and almost ate a whole one herself. She was so wound up from the niight and was still wide awake at 11:00 at nite . Howver, she slept until 10:00 am this morning which a tired mommy loved. I love all of the holidays and sharing them with my daughter and maybe even starting some new traditions. Either way the holidays are so much more fun now . Sandi PS. For those who would like to know more about this holiday check out the attached link. Passover Holiday information
  6. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW FAMILIES AND THEIR 2 BUNDLES OF BLUE. What a joy to see to new abrazo babes at once. How double amazing that what was sadness for one couple turned back to joy....what a miracle. I also wish for peace for the birthfamilys and the courageous decisions they have made. Enjoy and good wishes for all of the new relationships that have been created. Sandi
  7. Just my 2 cents; I think that all adoptions should be on a level playing field to all. If there is one baby and 2 families interested, then the "star" couple should not be the one to automatically get that child. However, in this case how many families are waiting on a 4 year old child from Vietnam??? Or a seriously ill little girl from Ethiopia who could have died???? I happen to think Angelina Jolie is awesome and she does so much for children everywhere. IF there were other couple waiting for this little boy and she pushed her way past them....shame on her.....but thats probably not the case. Bottomline, we should be happy that this little boy will grow up in a diversified home, with a roof over his head and plenty of food on his plate and a world of opportunities open to him. He will also have the best education at his fingertips so he can go back one day to his country and help if he chooses to. I just think she gets picked on because people find her actions weird or different from others. Well, Viva La Differance, and good for her that she is trying to help children that otherwise might spend their entire lives in an orphanage until they turn 18(if they make it) and then are left to fend for themselves after that. I personally think more about some of these celebrities who are hiring surrogates to have "their" children when there are so many children throughout the world who need loving homes. However, a couples decision on how they create their family is SO personal and should be. Ok, I know my thoughts might not be shared by others, but I just had to speak my mind. Sandi
  8. Congrats on your little bundle of blue, enjoy as the time does fly by so quickly. Cograts also to the new birthfamily and welcome to the forum. Sandi

  10. Congrats to the new family, I was thinking about her a lot and hoping she would find her forever family. What a blessing. Sandi
  11. Congratulations to the new family.....I was starting to wonder if Abrazo was specializing in girls only. Enjoy your little blue bundle. Sandi
  12. Just my two cents.....whatever they tell you, always get a name and last name or id# and tell then to put it in writing and don't back down. We sent our insurance company the letter given to us at orientation and they called me to let me know they would not cover from birth, but from time of legal placement....I made them send me a letter from their legal office stating the facts because this could be costly if they said that I misunderstood as they did with one of my fertility procedures.....still fighting that one  Anywho, thats just my two cents....trust no insurance person and make them back it up with ink. Sandi
  13. Congrats on your new baby girl......girls are wonderful Enjoy every moment, Sandi

  21. Hi Amanda, Your first post was so sweet and heartfelt. Cliff and Alison are so lucky to have you in their lives. Unfortunately our birthmom hasnt met or talked to us yet and we are hoping that one day she will want to, we think about her every day. Open adoption is such a great thing and always keep the lines of communication open and your son will benefit from it. Welcome to the forum, we look forward to seeing you on here and following your journey. Sandi
  22. Cliff & Alison, CONGRATS....CONGRATS....CONGRATS!!!!! Enjoy your new life as you "cruise" into parenthood. Hope you had a great Fathers Day and enjoy that little boy. Maybe we'll get to meet at finalization. Sandi
  23. Daniel & Erika all I can say is WOW!!!!! Thats one heck of a great "goody bag" you got from Camp Abrazo. He is such a little cutie-pie. I cant wait to meet him one day. Also just think we will be finalizing around the same time, so Jersey wil really be "representing" Take care and enjoy your boys. Sandi
  24. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR LITTLE BLUE BUNDLE!!!! It was a good week for babies, we actually left San Antonio with our pink bundle the day after you took placement of your blue one. Enjoy your time together. Sandi
  25. Hi Forumites, I am just now getting on the forum for the first time. I have been trying to get on the forum for 5 hours, but the internet in our hotel has been out. Dont they know I Need to get on It is so exciting to finally be the one whose picture is under new arrivals,we have waited so long to be the "headliners". As I joked to Pamela as she took the photo, this is a "real" adoptive parent picture. Real in the fact that we had to jump on a plane at a moments notice with only the clothes on our backs,a diaper bag with borrowed everything from the Abrazo gals,a borrowed carseat and Pamelas digital camera. We flew into Dallas, got our daughter, stayed overnite and flewback to San Antonio the next morning (in the same clothes and having no sleep). All of those "special" outfits I wanted her 1st photograph in were back at the hotel in San Antonio with our clothes. And the funny thing is, it isprobably one of my favorite pictures ever. What you dont see,is all of the hardwork and love that went into that picture, care of the Abrazo Angels. They went so far above and beyond to help us that thank you will ever be good enough. I have to say that somany people have been so amazing along thisjourney that I feellike one of the most blessed people in the world today. Oh yeah, and the adorablelittle bundle next to me ain't so bad either Thanks again everyone for those kind wishes and we are alltruly lucky to be at Abrazo together. Sandi, Scott & Skye (ok,the s thing was not planned,it just worked out that way )
