Devon here... I cannot fathom the difficulty birth-mothers (or birth-parents) face when choosing a couple to create an adoption plan with. I imagine all of the information in the world can sometimes not be enough, and in the end all of those swirling details come down to the push or pull of feelings. What i can fathom, and i'm obviously not alone in this, is trying to be the adoptive parents that stand out in that swirl. The hours spent crafting our online profile, choosing photos out of years of captured experiences and distilling our life story into mini glimpses, hoping they will make a birth mom smile, just as the recollections do the same for us. Hoping that someday soon, the recollected photos and experiences will expand with the addition of a child. And so, sympathetic to the challenge birth-mom's face in making a choice, we try to convey how we are the right family for a baby. We present our story, as simply and as honestly as we can, hoping it comes through the profile, where it stands out amongst the swirl and, with a smile and maybe through some tender tears we are seen and warmly with the thought, "The Bradfords are the couple for my baby."
