  1. Pamela, thank you for sharing a passage of wisdom and comfort. We are sad and hurting for Elizabeth and all of

Rev. Vanderwerf's family. He has touched many lives in many ways and though we never met, I am better for having known of him and his witness.

For Tracy I pray for peace and for her children, their parents and all who cared for her, I pray for God's comforting embrace.

  2. Oh sweet Rebecca! You are still a Bald Tire! Once you share that special weekend and make those friends, nothing will ever change that! ;) I'm so happy to hear your scans are coming back clear and that you are ready to move forward and past all this. {{{Hugs to you}}} I was just talking with another AP about how hurtful that longing for a child is and how we hurt with those still waiting. It can be crushing to have empty arms but hold on and keep the faith, your right, your time will come and won't we all be soooo excited for you! :D Sure can't wait to celebrate with you!

  3. I also have a big problem with labeling kids who were once adopted as "adoptees" as I think this has stigmatized many once-adopted children well into adulthood.

I love the term 'once adopted' because I don't know that our children need to be defined thier entire lives by an act that occurred once when they were little. This isn't intended to diminish the relevance of the triad members of course, but rather allow our kids to be more than adopted.

Thanks Stork, and Elizabeth, for this wonderful, gentle reminder!

  4. A beautiful prayer Elizabeth, one that will be spoken often as many grieve this tragic loss. Dear Glenn, I am so sorry. We are lifting you up to the arms of God so He will embrace you with comfort and peace during this impossible time.

    On angel wings sweet Priscilla........

  5. Thank the good Lord! Rebecca, I am so sorry your plans have been altered but how grateful for early detection! What a miracle! My mom is doing well after one round of chemo, post surgery, for stage 4 ovarian cancer. 6 months out, she is still cancer free. There is much hope and I thank you for sharing with us so, as Suzi said, we can be there for you. Big hugs coming your way!

  6. WOW!!!!! Amazing! I was hoping to see this announcement but had no idea the twist! Blessing to this sweet first mom, two special sisters and a couple of well-travelled parents who are certain to be thrilled to be on this adventure! :D I'm so happy for all of you! Congratulations!

  7. Oh my goodness! I can't believe I missed all this exciting news!

Congratulations Patti and Steve! Welcome to the world little girl!

Natalie!!! Oh my gosh! Wow! A huge Congrats to your family on the new bundle of blue! What a joyous surprise!

  8. Contnuing to lift up this Mother and her baby and praying for a family to welcome them both.....

Abrazo is seeking a family with lots of faith and high risk tolerance for a case with high health risks-- someone who is truly able to embrace the concept about "hating the sin but loving the sinner."

It involves a loveable, troubled, Anglo birthmother in her twenties, who is herself an adoptee from one of Fort Worth's most prestigious agencies, and who has placed a newborn for adoption here previously.

She is a bright, funny young lady with enormous potential, but has a history of drug use and has resorted to prostitution to support herself. The baby's father and his race are, therefore, unknown.

She is HIV+ and has hepatitis C; whether or not the baby she is carrying will ultimately bear these diagnoses will not be known until long after birth, when the mother's antibodies have been shed from the baby's system.

Due to this mother's legal problems, parenting is not an option and she is aware of this. However, she is going to need to reside in agency housing for several months prior to the birth, so living expenses on this case will be considerable (Medicaid should cover anticipated medical costs.)

She is due in July, and her attorney contacted our agency to request our assistance with placement-planning, as she cannot be released from jail without a suitable housing plan in place.

If you or someone you know feels called to respond to this baby and this birthmother in this hour of need, please contact Angela Martinez, MSW at 210/342-5683, as soon as possible. Thanks!
