  1. Congratulations Scott and Sandi on the arrival of the precious little boys!! Isn't it almost 3 years to the day of when you did your first Tots orientation? I still remember the conversation we had with you then when Tasia was just "wee big"! Both Bill and I were thrilled to hear the news.

Special hugs to big sister Skye. And prayers are being lifted for Aime as she makes such a loving choice to place the boys with you, and their birthsister!!

Open adoption really rocks! And so does Abrazo....Happy New Year!

  2. Please pass the word along to your hometown social workers, because we've not had a single response and time is of the essence for these four kids and their mama, obviously! Thank you kindly...

Hi Elizabeth -- I have alerted both of our social workers/local agencies -- Adoptions Together in the DC area and Carolina Adoption Services in Roanoke, VA/Greensboro, NC.

We will keep everyone involved in our prayers!

  3. A birth announcement we all have been waiting for! Blessings for Ellen, who has been so amazing about sharing your journey with us every step of the way..and know that we are here for you in the days and months ahead. All of our best for Jen and Amos as you start your parenthood journey, for we too look forward to being here for you. May God hold you especially close tonight!

  4. Yesterday my family buried my cousin's son, 10 year old Tristan who died of cancer. Perhaps affirmation that the Lord opens a window when he closes a door. I think T (as we call him) is Collin's guardian angel.

This brings tears to my eyes, Suzi -- I think it is always meaningful as someone goes to heaven, that another one is given. May Collin bring healing, strength and joy to your family as you all grieve little Tristan who left this earth way too young....

What a special story of the name Collin...

You sound so peaceful and happy...know that we are thinking of you.

PS -- and the photo is adorable!

  5. Suzi and Ben -- We rejoice with you, just as we have prayed for you and C so much in the last days, for today at last you are parents to one adorable and precious little boy, and you are forever family with one amazing and dear birthmother. Special prayers are being lifted this evening for her as she processes her decision and prepares for her days ahead.

Know how close we hold all three of you -- and your dear son -- tonight.

    Love, Susan and Bill

  6. Dear Kay and Darren -- An announcement we have all been waiting for!! Congratulations on the arrival of Elliott and his sweet birthfamily into your life! Please know how much we continue to keep you in our prayers and we cannot wait to hear more details...

  7. I have to say Bailey brought sweet tears to my eyes yesterday. After getting home from work, she comes in and pulls the blanket off the the crib and starts carrying it around asking me to hold and rock her. When I asked her what she was doing, she said she was "payin' with sister" (playing with sister). I was rocking with her and when Mark came through he asked what she was holding she said, "sister's bankit" in her sweet little voice. I couldn't help but shed a few tears. It could have just been end-of-the-day fatigue.

    Mark and Laurie,

I bounced back on a thread to catch up on your journey and found the above post. Seems like Ms. Bailey knew all along what the outcome would be. Didn't she talk about a baby sister a few times without really knowing what was going on? I guess she heard the angels whispering. ;)

CONGRATULATIONS to all of you as you embark on yet another wonderful adoption journey.

There is no doubt in mind. My mind also flashes back to several instances like this one over the past 3 months. The most treasured are the out-of-the-blue mentions of baby sister in her little prayers before bed. I also remember our first mention of having a sister and her response to my question of what she would do with her sister - "I laugh". And so today we laugh with joy. :)

This brings me chills! I too, remember you posting about these comments from Bailey. Funny how our kids have a sense... We laugh with you too, Laurie...

  8. Wow, Laurie and Mark, it is all official!! I have been praying for all of you so much in the last few days, and so happy that you have been reunited with Bailey's birthmother, and that the sisters are together!! We are keep their birthmother in our prayers. Yours is such a special story and we are so blessed to travel this journey with you!

Enjoy these early precious days with the girls and their birthmother --

    Susan
