  1. Yeah Brian and Cathy!!! I am sooooooooooo happy for your new family. I am going to PM you because I know your birthmom. My husband, Greg, has an aunt that lives in Paris that knows J. J wasn't sure what she was going to do about her baby and Greg's aunt told her about us and they called us and I spoke with J about Abrazo. Can't wait to talk you guys.

  2. I wanted to give an update and a praise. I just got word that our pilot that was shot the other day made it to DC had the operation, and he is doing well!! (besides the bullet hole in his leg) He is now the first purple heart recipient in our squadron for this tour!! however, he will not be rejoining us out here!! Thank you everyone for your prayers!!

Loriahn, I am so glad he is doing well. And lets hope he is the only one to receive a purple heart from your squadron.

  3. If anyone out there knows of a childless couple, of any race, who is very comfortable with the open adoption concept and is seeking an African-American newborn, we're working with a loving mom who's due anyday and longs to find just the right home for her precious baby... please contact Angela at Abrazo for more information. Thanks!

    Elizabeth,

Does the couple have to be childless?

  4. Well, I got the yellow pages out and called every adoption agency in it. Everyone sent us their information and Greg and I narrowed it down to three. We applied to all three with the first set of paperwork and all three accepted us at that point. Then we had to decide on one. We picked Abrazo becasue their wait time was the shortest and the cost was in the middle of all three. But most of all was the conversations I had on the phone with the people at Abrazo. I wish I could remember who I spoke it. I just got a "good" feeling with Abrazo. They seemed to care so much. I had a lot of questions and they answered them so well. So we choose Abrazo and the rest is history!!! Two kids later we couldn't be happier.

  5. I too am catching up on things.

Way to go Tina. You know all of your fourm friends were beside you in that room. We all have to explain to people about open adoption. Some people get it and some just never do. I just told some new friends recently that Jackson and Annie are adopted. And when I told them that Annie's birthparents have been to our house, well I think that kind of freaked them out. Anyone else have their children's birthparents over to your house. We all had alot of fun.

Melissa, I loved your letter too. Maybe you can direct them to Abrazo for their adoption?

Betsy, on your commet "Oh, so you are still doing that". We had someone ask, "Do you have to still see those people?" Talk about beating your head against the wall.

I just tell people you have to do what is best for you child. We love our children's birthparents. We get along so well and really enjoy each others company.

  6. I have been thinking and praying for this little guy. Since the last two "hopefuls" did not work out that just means there is an amazing family out there that is finding their way to him. Lets just hope they get here real soon!
