  1. Look how much I missed today  How exciting. . .three special couples have an extra special Thanksgiving this year!

Congratulations Todd & Eileen, Dale & Amanda, and especially our Wanna Ohana firsts--Teena & Joe :)

What a Thanksgiving this is for you all three!

  2. Offering up prayers of thanksgiving, on behalf of the Happy Holiday Hopefuls (12/06) couple who just became first-time parents today; asking for prayers of healing for the birthfamily of their tiny new daughter; and praying for peace of mind and heart, for the sojourners who travelled with both for a spell, along the broken roads that led to today. Blessings, all!

CONGRATULATIONS. . .what a memory this Thanksgiving will be!

  3. . . .and for one loving new family, handpicked by Him.

So glad to hear it sounds like things are working out for both of these families. I will continue to keep these children and their mama in my thoughts as they join their new family :)

  4. Look at those eyes. . .such adorable children. Hoping they meet their new family soon.

Home study ready, parents in waiting?

Brian & I are PIW's; however, our homestudy hasn't been approved by Angela yet. I am glad it sounds like there may be a family in mind who could welcome these adorable children :) Hoping they meet their new family soon

  5. "but just don't think we could provide the attention and time these children deserve."

Just something to ponder....... Even the healthiest newborns may take more "time and attention" than you may think. We DID adopt a newborn. We were blessed to be in the delivery room. And our sweet Layna truly did not stop crying and rarely slept for 4 entire months. Colic will do this. Would we change a thing? NO WAY! But please don't bank on a newborn being any "easier or less time consuming" than two toddlers. ALL children deserve all the time and attention they can get. ;)

    Hmmm. . .I recognize this quote

  6. Well, how about it? ;)

Brian & I have talked, but just don't think we could provide the attention and time these children deserve. It might be different if I didn't work or plan on continuing to work. I do hope there is someone out here that can do it though!

  7. So-- let that serve as incentive to get active in a church or temple that offers good daycare with a membership discount, and to adopt through Abrazo, again, some of yous!!) ;)

Brian and I did talk to our SW at one of our last meetings about looking into a local church for our child/children to grow up in. Assuming we are successful in adopting our first child through Abrazo, we hope to adopt number two as well through Abrazo :)

  8. I wanted to introduce myself too...my name is Julie and I have been learning about agencies over the past four months. Today was a big step for me and my husband. I sent off our inquiry packet! I have spent time reading posts on this website and getting a feel for the Abrazo community. I am overwhelmed with how much positive support you all give one another!! This forum was a huge part of our decision to pursue adoption with Abrazo. :) Julie

Welcome Julie and mysterious husband :) My husband is also known as the "mysterious" one :P I, too, spent a few months lurking out here before I contacted Elizabeth with my specific questions before making the decision to go with Abrazo. The Forum has been a great wealth of information for me. I feel like it is part of my extended family and have since my first post :D

I look forward to following your journey. Hoping to learn that you'll be attending an orientation session in the not too far future.

  9. We send them all a standing ovation for their choices on behalf of this special little cowboy, who "won" the best and brightest buckle of all-- that of a son loved by many, forever. Congratulations, all!

Congratulations to the guardian angels and the little cowboy (aka baby rat) :)

  10. Hi, All--I have been lurking here off & on for a couple of months. (Seems to be theme here, huh?! ;)

Hopefully, things will come together for us to get started with Abrazo early 2008!

in Arkansas (anyone else here from AR???)

Welcome Ashleigh and Michael and, of course, little John :) I, too, lurked for a few months before I joined the Forum. However, I never did introduce myself but jumped right in. A bit late for me to introduce myself at this point :o

Hopefully you'll be able to get everything together so that everything can come together so we can follow your journey with Abrazo. It's a great place with great Abrazochicks B)
