  1. CONGRATULATIONS MAURY, DEBRA, "BIG SISTER" SAMANTHA & NICHOLAS! :D

We're all thinking about you, praying for you and pulling for you in this time of joy mixed with sadness.

Please stay in touch while you're in Texas! Lots of hugs are waiting for you when you get home.

  2. Just another creative way to raise money to cover the cost of adoption. :P

This story was on CNN.com today.

Ohio couple may have just the ticket for adoption

CANTON, Ohio (AP) -- With fans scrambling to obtain tickets to Saturday's Michigan-Ohio State football game, a couple is auctioning off their seats to raise money to adopt a boy from Guatemala.

Ken and Kristie Sigler have season tickets in the closed end of Ohio Stadium, about 10 rows from the field. They have put the two tickets up for sale on eBay, hoping the payout helps defray the $12,500 cost to begin processing their adoption paperwork.

They set the minimum bid at $1,000, with an option to purchase the tickets directly for $1,500. No bids had been made as of early Tuesday.

At first, the couple thought it would be difficult for them to sell the tickets, but with adoption fees mounting -- costs total about $30,000, including the paperwork fee -- the decision became easier.

The top-ranked Buckeyes and second-ranked Wolverines are both undefeated, and the winner advances to the national championship game.

"It's just one day, one game, compared to changing this little boy's life with us," Kristie Sigler said.

  3. Congratulations Gallagher FAMILY!!! (including au pair Nicole) Danny finally has a little brother!!! biggrin.gif

Now you and the Walkers know...God laughs when you think your plans are set. laugh.gif

As we shared adult beverages in the Flying L Saloon on Friday night and pondered the world of children and parenthood...little did we know how one phone call Saturday afternoon was going to change your world.

Three cheers for the newest "unofficial" Stork Jacker. Enjoy your unexpected vacation in San Antonio and please don't make Erika do the 28 hour drive home. tongue.giflaugh.gifbiggrin.gif

Let us know when you get back to Jersey.

  5. Florida's not just known for Disneyworld, hanging chads and snowbirds-- as of today, it's also going to be "home sweet home" for one sweet baby girl, whose loving new parents hail from our Dandy Dozen Storkjackers of 1/05, and whose birthmom was in such a hurry to meet them, she just couldn't wait to deliver next week as planned. Baby has two proud big birthbrothers, and an extended birthfamily who just couldn't be happier about where she's headed. Happpy homecoming, little one! Happy dream-come-true, Mom and Dad!

  6. It's Fiesta week in San Antonio, and our town is abloom with cascarones, colorful parades, mariachi music, funnel cakes, fajitas, cold beer and wild tourists! all celebrating the arrival of spring and the legendary Battle of San Jacinto and surely, the newest success story for the Dandy Dozen Storkjackers of 1/05!! Another set of parents-in-waiting have returned to the Lone Star State in record time to meet their precious new baby girl and her loyal birthmom. May your lives together be one big party!! Bienvenidos, chulita! Hola, familia nueva! Viva fiesta!!

Congratulations --- can't wait to hear who it is.

  7. We're proud to announce, we're counting another set of blue booties for another of our Dandy Dozen Storkjackers of 1/05, as another family of againers bring home another baby boy (their second son)! Congratulations to these fine folks (active Forumites that they are), with many thanks to their loving birthmom and her supportive family, who welcomed not just the baby but also his new mom, dad and brother into their world with open arms. (Everyone even participated in a touching entrustment ceremony at the hospital, to celebrate this fresh new branch of their family tree.) May your Easter holiday this year be a special tribute to the power of love, in all its glorious incarnations.

Congratulations Terry Family!! Can't wait for all the details on the newest member of the DDSJs!!

  8. Three times is a charm, they say! and just three weeks after officially signing on with Abrazo, a third couple from the Dandy Dozen Storkjackers, 1/05 made the trip back to Texas (leaving their three daughters eagerly waiting back home) to embrace their new baby boy (the third little fella in three weeks, for this proud orientation group, nearly a third of the way to completion!) Three cheers, also, for his courageous birthmom, who felt a special connection with this, her thirdborn child.

May this dear trio of parents build a friendship for the future that's thrice as nice as any of them expected it to be when they first began this journey!!

After three days with our new son we are proud to report that sleep deprivation has not been overwhelming. Gavin is doing well and has already been on several outings. We have been able to spend time with our birthmother every day, continuing to build that bond. We got to experience the TEXAS SIZE country fried steak Saturday night when we had dinner with Jay, Julie and Aidan. Several people at the restaurant asked if they were twins.

And - just a question to Marjory and Bob and Kenneth and Mary, our remaining Memphis area DDSJs. Simply by coincidence, we have a trend in names going -- boy's names consisting of five letters, ending in "n." Can we keep this trend alive?? biggrin.gif

And we'd like to add our thanks to the Abrazo staff for their calm, encouragement and guidance during our roller coaster ride last week. They are the best. And for those of you waiting for deliveries or matches, don't forget three key words -- faith, patience and trust. In the midst of chaos, they will help pull you through.

  9. I know but I don't have permission to tell. tongue.gif

By process of elimination I can tell you it is not us. And it is not the Walker's because Marjory is driving to the Carolinas as I type.

We are in San Antonio...but it is another Volunteer couple who is currently cherishing every minute with their new son.

We will let them be the first to share all the details.

  10. Congratulations Dan & Erika!!!! smile.gif

When we spoke to our birthmother last night she told us she met you Wednesday at the Abrazo office and that you were there about a baby. So I immediately logged on to the forum to see if any birth announcements were posted. We all said you should be the first in our group and someone obviously agreed with us. We will keep you and Little Danny in our prayers for a safe trip home. What great news to end the week!!!
