  1. Cathy,

I am glad the responses were positive even if they were tinged with canine and feline tendencies. Brian's mom saying you needed to go to the baby section at Kohl's is supportive and sweet. Your family will be excited for you and will have lots of questions, but you will be prepared to answer them or if you are unsure, you'll know where to go to get the answers! Congratulations on letting the "cat" er "baby" out of the bag! (Just teasing).

  2. Welcome Paul and Jen,

I adopted my son almost 5 years ago through Abrazo. The agency and the community they've created is one of support, wisdom and a little bit of craziness. I wish you the best in your journey to parenthood and let me know if there is any thing I can do for you.

    Welcome to the forum!

  3. SINGLE MOM'S LAMENT (AT FORTY-SOMETHING)

    My kids are acting crazy,

My house is quite a mess.

And where I left my car keys

    Is just anybody's guess.

    The laundry's reached the chimney,

While my checkbook's in the pits.

Guess the good news is-- once aging,

    You swap cellulite for zits?!

Will these kids grow up by thirty?

    Will I find another man?

Will Congress ever find an exit

Or just move troops to Iran?

We've had more rain than Noah!

I miss sun-- I must confess,

I'd be buried by daily doldrums,

    But for my colleagues' zaniness.

Though their lives seem fun and vibrant

While mine has that weathered feel,

I can't help but count my blessings

(And then I feel like quite the heel!)

So dear Lord, this is a thank you

for each joy-- and yes, each woe!

For my two so-wild children, and (!!)

an office to which to go!

For my clients, past and present,

For hard lessons life has taught,

For Your patience when I'm whiney...

Thanks! (You've put up with quite a lot.)

So: who cares about those car keys?

    Let the creditors just wait.

    Hey there, God-- muchas abrazos!

(All in all, isn't life great?!)

    ;)

Have you been peeking in my window lately? From one 40 something mom to another, God Bless you and your boys.

  4. Congratulations, Kristin and Rich! On Saturday night Elizabeth told us that a baby boy had been born in Houston. My sweet son was born in Houston four and a half years ago. His precious birthmom also elected not to have contact and left the decision in God's hands and He through the Abrazo Angels. My son was a "talker" and has blessed my life beyond belief. I know that your son will do the same in your lives. As I looked at the picture of Alexander, I was taken with how much he looks like Nathan ALEXANDER looked as a newborn. Heart felt congratulations.

  5. Congratulations to the Venturas one and all. Your beautiful outlook and understanding touched my heart. I will be praying for Ayanna's birthmom, Ayanna, and the entire Ventura family. I know the union of your two families will continue to bless both. I hope to see all of you at camp again next year!

    Hugs,

    Jean

  6. Me, too. I even contacted a friend who is an Abrazo mom twice over about this precious little one.........I wonder if mom has decided to parent, dad has had a change of heart and decided to parent his child in is home, or if an adoption plan is being made/in process. Not nosey, just emotionally involved!
