I received a text today from my best friend who was at the Southern Baptist Convention today. The SBC passed a resolution this morning in support of adoption to encourage it, educate about it and to celebrate it.

There are not even words to express how excited I am for Tracey and Denver right now. They have been so faithful through all the ups and downs!! Can't wait to hold this little fella in August (before Melissa gets to him!) Congratulations!!

You are such a strong person as is your daughter, it is no wonder your granddaughter is such a fighter! I agree with Elizabeth, I would love to see your writing in Adoptive Family magazine. You truly have a way with words.

I know it must be very hard to write about such hard times, but it helps me as I am sure others to read what you and your daughter went through.

This is one I would double check with the ladies on. You may just be able to send the original approved homestudy and get an update prior to placement, but I could be totally wrong on that!
That is all we had to do. We spoke to our son's birthmom in Jan. and our social worker came over about 30 days before Jack was due to be born.

Hi Alicia,
With both our children we went to TX for orientation, to visit a few months before birth, at placement and finalization, but we will continue to make visits to TX now that part of hearts live there thanks to our children's birthfamilies.
Not sure about the 60 days, since Abrazo tells people at orientation that birthfamilies can sign the papers after 48 hours if they had a normal delivery not requiring a c-section. After placement we had about a week to wait for clearance to go home.

Welcome leathersfamily!!
I live in Martin but come to Jackson to shop etc.
We adopted twice through Abrazo and we couldn't be happier. God has blessed us with two beautiful children and two equally amazing birthfamilies.
