  1. Such an amazing post. It touches my heart. I can feel the love through your writing. Sounds like Julia is pretty special and has a pretty special family too. Hoping you enjoy your visit with your grandchildren and children. It is wonderful to see a grandparent post.

    Hugs to your family,

    Tracey

  2. Welcome Danette and Chris!! My husband (Denver) and I just went to the May orientation. It was WONDERFUL and Amazing. So I am by no means anTra expert on this, I have learned so much and still learning from the forum. We did not have a home study done previous. Actually we are now working on our home study and all the paperwork that is needed. Orientation will be a weekend you will never forget. Goodluck to you both and can't wait to follow your journey. The forum has a lot of information and wonderful people on it.

  3. It's been a while since I last posted but it has been a crazy month for me. I started taking my summer session classes a few weeks ago. I am also on a fire department and we were called to a fatality motorcycle accident and it turned out to be someone that I know. So I was kind of in the dumps for a while. But, I am feeling better so we are back into adoption stuff. We are hoping to get invited to the July orientation. Is it a good idea to get started on our homestudy now? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks again,

    Mark

Sorry to hear about your friend. My husband and I just went to the May Orientation. I can only say it is one life changing weekend. We learned so much and also it was wonderful to listen to everyone's stories and feel the connnection that they understand the whole infertility thing. You will feel a closeness with the couples you meet. You will laugh and shed a few tears together. And everyone tried to tell us"get some sleep" before. They were right. Goodluck on your wonderful journey your about to begin.

    Blessings Erin and Mark,

    Tracey

  4. Patti & Steve & Jack, Sara is a beautiful little girl. Your picture is so sweet. Sara's cheeks look very squeezable and kissable. She is adorable.

Many blessings to your family. God is good! Prayers also lifted for the birthparents.

  5. How very sad. With the boy missing so long, chances of finding him keep getting slimmer and slimmer. After reading some of the articles, they suspect foul play. The last article said the parents are no longer helping in the search of the child. I suspect there is more information on the father that is not given in the articles of his past abuse.

  6. How awful! How in the world did this man with a history of abuse become an adoptive parent? We have only started the process and see how much paperwork and checks that need to be done on our history and records. I definitely understand why all these check are done, but how did this man pass all the tests?

  7. Congratulations Nana Carleen. Your post touched my heart and I'm sure many others. Thank you so much for sharing and believing. I'm sure you and your entire family are thrilled with your new little girl. God is good. He may not always answer prayers when "we" think we need them, but when "he" thinks we need them. Congratulations again, and I can see that 12 grandchildren are very lucky to have a wonderful Nana. God is good.

    Hugs to your family,

  8. Welcome Jenny and Erin and Mark. My husband and I have just started this journey as well. We have sent in our inquiry and then our application last week. Look forward to following your journey. I too have learned so much from this Forum alone. It has opened my eyes and heart to so much more than before. I feel joy, excitement, happiness and sad for those on this forum. I'm addicted to reading about everyone's journeys and children. The forum is a "family". As someone stated before, it is nice to know that someone has been through what you have concerning infertilty.

Welcome and hope to hear more on your journey.

    Tracey & Denver

  9. We too sent in our application a week ago, Fedex. We are waiting to hear something also. I figured it will take a few weeks. I think I read the next orientation is in the middle of May. We are just keeping our fingers crossed and prayers. But, we know God has a plan for us. We are very excited and nervous at the same time. It is a wonderful feeling to see light in the tunnel after the years of infertility. After reading the Forum(I'm Hooked) daily, I can see how busy the Abrazo chicks are and quickly things can happen. So I can only imagine their daily work schedule. Maybe we will be in the same orientation group as AshG. We look forward to our journey ahead of us and to meeting wonderful new friends.
