  1. I too am picking my jaw up after reading this. Wow, it is hard to believe someone put that in public where so many others can read it. I agree, this lady sounds like she cares nothing about the birth mothers, just sees the expectant mothers and birth mothers as keeping her business going, a paycheck. How so very sad.

  2. What a beautiful announcement to wake up to this morning! So excited and celebrating with Jill and Andy on their new baby girl. Can't wait to hear all about her when the time is right. As many said before, this is the answers to many prayers. biggrin.gif

    Hugs,

    Tracey

  3. Ric and Teresa so happy for you!!! What a beautiful announcement. I too am looking forward to holding your son next year at the Memphis Reunion.biggrin.gif I know your hearts are filled with joy and so much love. Keeping the first momma in our prayers. God is Good! Thanks to all those that helped him in this journey.

    Blessings,

    Tracey

  4. Lighting a candle for the PIW and for the two mommas trying to make a difficult decision. May God wrap his arms around them.

Also lighting a candle for Lathan's first mom "C". Praying that she and her other two sons are safe and doing well. Hoping she will call or write soon.

  6. What a horrific tragedy, right here in our own backyard.

For all the moms we know whose families tried to talk them out of adoption planning with the old platitude that "blood is thicker than water", here's a reminder that sometimes, water can help make things new by washing away toxicity and freeing children from some of the toxic illness that otherwise festers within bloodlines...

If only this mom had made placement plans instead, her child might be alive today.

    God bless the child!

(Note to staff: why is it that this baby's first three names sound so familiar, but not the mother's? Let's check our old intake files tomorrow to see whether someone other than the mom ever called Abrazo.)

This story makes my heart along with my stomach turn over. How terrible. It said that the other two children were in the home also that lived there.

  7. Welcome leathersfamily...I went to college in Jackson, and we have lots of good folks from TN area!!!

The adoption journey is a roller coaster ride...full of highs and lows, twist and turns, and many moments that turn your stomach upside down as well as those that take your breath away. But all of us who have been blessed to adopt will tell you that we wouldn't change anything that led us to our children and taught us so much along the way.

We second this! Welcome Welcome!! We are from Western Kentucky! You will find so much information, support and life long friends! The bumps, curves, ups and downs of this process are sooooo worth it! Can't wait to follow your journey!

  8. Hugo and Lathan...like the names! How did you guys come up with them?

After looking thru some baby books and meanings, Lathan was one of the names that stuck out, we had never heard it(but I'm sure there are millions named this., lol) and the meaning of Lathan is "gift from god". And this is exactly what Lathan is. And definitely it was in "god's timing" not ours.

Blessings and prayers to all the PIW,

    Tracey

That's cool Tracey. When I read your post I thought, "That's odd. I thought Nathan meant "gift from God" or "God has given." Nathan is Joshua's middle name because of it's meaning. I looked up Lathan, and the website said it was a form of Nathan.

Well, duh! I love the name Lathan...different, meaningful, and very cool sounding!! Can't wait to hold that little cutie!

Looking forward to seeing you and your family at the reunion too! So will Lathan, he loves to be cuddled :D .
