  1. EEEERRRRR  Yesterday when I was talking with a dear friend, she was telling a story about someone, who was adopted. She went on to state that the woman had found her REAL parents..... Did I say EEERRRRR. Yes, I am sure you all have friends and family that also need much adoption education. She has said this same type of language several other times. I want to correct her so bad but not sure how to do so without hurting her feelings because she would never intentionally hurt mine and she adores Lauren.

Any suggestions on a polite response?

I know this is probably on the wrong thread since this is an infertility thread but not sure where else to put the comment.

  2. Thank you all for such a welcome. I have been browsing through the forum and have found a lot of helpful information. I know this will be another roller coaster ride that we will be entering. I look forward to taking some time off from the ferility treatments and preparing for adoption if this is what we choose. It will be nice for a while not to worry about what cycle day I am on, taking medications, appointments, etc. So, in a couple of months we will be geared up for this journey. Thanks for all the responses and helpful information. Look forward to continuing to chat with you all.

    Pam,

To answer your question on why wait 6 months following treatment, there is a good explaination by Elizabeth under adopting after infertity and I have bumped up the thread for you. Best wishes to you on your journey. Traci

  3. A friend told me of a website who offers free business cards. I haven't ordered yet, but looked at the website and found they also offer websites. Hope this info helps our proactive friends...

If you have Microsoft Publisher on your computer, you can create your own business cards and microsoft.com has tons of free cip art and designs to use on your card. All you have to do is go to a business supply store (OfficeMax, etc.) and get your card paper. It's really pretty easy and kind of fun. Just an idea for you. :)

  4. Thank you God for our sweet daughter Lauren who You brought into our life on October 20, 2007. Thank you God for Abrazo and the wonderful support of family and friends who have helped us through infertility and adoption. Thank you God for adoption of all of us into Your family.

I pray for our birth mother and birth father who are having a difficult time now. I pray for their healing and comfort.

God is good all the time and all the time God is good. Praise be to God.

    Amen.

  5. Well everyone out there in Forum Land, here it is: Lauren Isabel was born on 10/20/07 at 12:42am. She weighed 7lbs. 1oz. and was 20.5 inches long. She had a complication at birth that could have turned pretty serious but God put his hand on her and helped her through it and now she is here in the hotel room with us today. Today was our placement day as well as her discharge day from the NICU and what a day it was. I know Traci and myself will both cherish today for the rest of our lives. Lauren is so precious and, looking back at all the things we've gone through to get to this point, she makes it all seem worthwhile. Keep saying a prayer for our birth mother and father for the healing that still must take place in their lives. We've had the opportunity to meet them and talk with them some this weekend and they are a couple of truly wonderful people.

Thank you all for your kind words during this whirlwind experience. I'm sure Traci will post soon but right now she and Lauren are sleeping. It's just about feeding time again so I'd better wrap this up and get another bottle ready for the little one. By the way, did I mention that she is beautiful! :)

Thank you. We are staying really close to the Abrazo office and feel lucky to be as close to so many stores and restaurants as we are. Hopefully things won't get to rough on us but it's nice to know so many people who are willing to help if needed. Thanks so much.
