  1. Funny you should say that Toni! tongue.gif I gave it a fleeting (very, very fleeting) thought (don't ever tell my husband that, he would really think I was out of my mind!), but then wished I knew somebody who would be lucky enough to take these babies into their lives. Unfortunately I don't, but I'm sure the good Lord has someone in mind. happy.gif

  2. Hi Sandi ... when my husband and I joined Abrazo in 1994 we just had to go our local police station to get our fingerprints taken ... two years ago I started a job at an elementary school and had to go to Sagem Morpho ... it was pretty cool how they did it there. It may be just for New Jersey.

  3. rolleyes.gif CONGRATULATIONS to all of the new families created this week!!!!! What wonderful news and what hope it must bring to all the other parents-in-waiting.

MaryHelen and Jim, Susan and Bill what beautiful babies. Can't wait to see pictures from Christine and Mark (adopting siblings is near and dear to my heart!).

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! God certainly is GOOD!

  4. WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I also have been waiting to read this post! Congrats again Toni and Joe! Your baby girl is very lucky! Can't wait to see pictures! Stop staring at her for a minute and take a pic or two and then post them on the Forum for all the world to see! A big sigh of relief and hugs from New Jersey! wink.gif

  5. I found this saying on a plaque in one of the many, many catalogs I receive. I thought these were good suggestions on how to live. The plaque was called "Alphabet for Life". So here it is:

    ACCEPT Differences

    BE Kind

    COUNT Your Blessings

    DREAM

    EXPRESS Thanks

    FORGIVE

    GIVE Freely

    HARM No One

    IMAGINE More

    JETTISON Anger

    KEEP Confidence

    LOVE Truly

    MASTER Something

    NURTURE Hope

    OPEN Your Mind

    PACK Lightly

    QUELL Rumors

    RECIPROCATE

    SEEK Wisdom

    TOUCH Hearts

    UNDERSTAND

    VALUE Truth

    WIN Graciously

    XERISCAPE

    YEARN For Peace

    ZEALOUSLY Support a Worthy Cause

Just some food for thought. I'm going to try and practice these on a daily basis.

  6. I agree ... Sabrina stay with us on the Forum. Sometimes I feel the same way you do, but for a different reason. All the posts nowadays are from the "newbies". We adopted our children almost 11 years ago! Plus the fact that I am much older than ALMOST everyone else here. There is no one else from my orientation group who regularly posts on the Forum. So I used to think maybe I have no business being on here, but it gives me such pleasure to read all the exciting posts and I genuinely feel for everyone involved when plans fall through. I decided to stay and most times just be a silent reader, but every once in a while I'll still post. Please stay Sabrina, I like what you have to say. wink.gif

  7. I saw Abrazo's ad in Adoptive Families Adoption Reference Guide. I called and spoke to Elizabeth, received the agency literature in April of 1994, sent our completed application to attend orientation in July of 1994 and the rest, as they say, is history. The best phone call I ever made! wink.gif

  8. Everyone on this Forum is amazing to me. The faith that could move mountains is what I find here in every story.

I'm pretty sure I knew all along that we would have difficulty conceiving, but tried many options before contacting adoption agencies. We chose Abrazo because the lady that answered the phone (Elizabeth at that time!) seemed very caring. When we received our call about a sibling group of three, we only hesitated for one second before saying yes. Then their birthparents chose another couple. It was devastating, and I kept praying "why God, why did you present this wonderful opportunity to us and then take it away?". Well, as it turned out, two days later Elizabeth called again and said "still interested? because the birthcouple changed their mind." I was still interested, but I had to make sure Brian was too, so I asked if I could call her back after speaking with Brian. The rest, as you know, is history.

While we were waiting for all the signed paperwork before leaving for San Antonio, I remembered a book I had read when I was about 12 or 13 that I had purchased at a library book sale (or never returned). I knew the title had something to do with adoption so I hunted through all my boxes of books that I had never unpacked. Sure enough, there was the book. The title: "We Adopted Three", hence my screen name for the Forum. Finding that book confirmed God's plan for us! rolleyes.gif Becoming the lucky parents of Hillary, Brian and Cassie was definitely His plan.

  9. It's amazing how we all are pulling for each other. I, too, was holding my breath for Stork Central to post this wonderful news! CONGRATULATIONS Marcelo and Claudia on your beautiful bundle of BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As you can tell, the entire Forum is full of love and joy for all of you! We especially remember Dante's birthfamily in our prayers. smile.gif

  10. Not on the subject, but ....... just wanted to say how much I am enjoying everyone's updated photos of their babies. I, for one, am not computer savvy, so I haven't changed our avatar picture in a very long time.

Paul and Michelle, I love the picture of your little ones! Melissa, Grace Ann is still a cutie patootie! rolleyes.gif

    Love,
