Baby Announcements 2014

This story warms my heart. Jesus and Corrine and their boys have been such a special part of the Abrazo community. Many of us in the DC area have had the extra benefit of their presence, as they have hosted us in their home. Now we celebrate with them on the arrival of this sweet baby girl. And we are so happy that the baby girl's sweet birthmother is now pet of this community too. It was neat to see them all together at Camp. And to see their son Benjamin's birthmother alongside. I am so touched by the gift of open adoption. It warms my heart.

Enjoy these early precious moments together.

When the second of our two Mighty Paisanos couples of the October 2013 orientation began their adoption journey, they could not have known all the twists and turns their voyage would take in the nine months to follow.

But God knew, and God had a very special plan in store for them. God knew of a special mother-to-be who was going to need a family who could embrace not just her baby boy, but her, as well, and God gave them time to get to know each other and build a much-needed trust between them.

Two days ago, they welcomed a precious new son into the world, a child much-loved by them all.

Tonight, they signed the paperwork that makes them family forever, and we couldn't just couldn't be happier for each of them.

Blessings, all!

So happy for you both Mark and Emma! I can't wait to meet for dinner again and this time y'all are feeding and burping and pulling away the forks and knives! Just giddy! Welcome Aidan Alexander Tapia!

She'd been feeling for a long time that her son didn't have the life he deserved, and it broke her heart.

She'd done all she could, but try as she might, it just wasn't enough. She wanted so much more for him than she'd had, and she hoped against hope that things would turn around for her, for him... yet in time, she couldn't put off the inevitable any longer.

She summoned all her courage, googled "adoption agencies" and called Abrazo. She wanted to do the sort of adoption that would allow her some continuing place in her child's life, so he will always know her and never think her decision was about her needs, rather than his own. She spoke with families, thought it over some more, talked it over with those who mattered to her most, and then she said to the agency "it's time."

The couple of her choosing, members of our Two Men Down orientation of April, 2014 came to San Antonio without delay. They talked. They hugged. They laughed. They spent time together in our playroom with a little boy who clearly basked in all the love and attention of the parents surrounding him.

Together, they reveled in the sweet son they now share, and now we celebrate the family they are becoming.

Blessings, all! Big hugs, little one!
