Baby Announcements 2011

Congrats Andrew and Tanya! We are sending prayers to you, your new son, and his birthfamily!

We also wanted to add a bit of encouragement. Our son was 33 weeks, 3 1/2 lbs and spent a good deal of time in the NICU. And now he's almost 7 months, almost 18 lbs, and a very happy, healthy boy! Don't know what hospital you're at, but we will be in San Antonio next week to visit our NICU nurses and would be happy to bring you anything you may need.

We'll be sending prayers that you will head home soon! Jennifer, Haukur and Drake Gudmundsson

Thank you for all your kind words and prayers. We fell very fortunate to be a part of the Abrazo family. The love we have received from all is so supportive.

I would love to meet you Jennifer and your family, but we are in the NICU in Mission TX. The very southern tip of Texas. If you want to come down to Mission just let us know. I would love to any Abrazo family near us. Our family is in El Paso TX and they haven't been able to make it out here yet. But their coming. They should be hear with us in Mission around Wednesday of this week. Thank you for sharing your story about your son. It is difficult to be in the NICU for so long, but I know he is taken so well care of and the nurses just love him. Hopefully we will be able to come through San Antonio in about 3 weeks or so when he is strong enough to leave the hospital.

  • 3 weeks later...

"Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them." --Psalms 126:5 (NIV)

Half a year ago, they didn't know each other-- these people whose lives are now forever entwined for the most precious of reasons.

She was a harried single mom, working to support her family and going to school to better herself.

They were a "still-childless" professional couple; everybody's favorite godparents with a lovely home and an ordered life yet no son or daughter of their own.

Both had shed countless tears, and each was praying for answers.

They found Abrazo in November, attending the TIKLV orientation weekend of 11/10.

She found Abrazo in January, seeking new options for the New Year.

Both were scared, and neither was sure that open adoption held the right answers for their future.

But God knew, surely, and we have no doubt that it was God who led them-- to us, and to each other. God had great plans for both of them, plans that enabled them to effect great change in the lives of the other, and especially for one much-loved baby boy, who came into the world welcomed by all of them, together.

May this be only the beginning of God's glorious plans for them... for both families, and the little boy who will forever love them all. Blessings abound!
