Nursery Notes

Things were HOPPING around Suite 540, yesterday... the new lobby furniture was finally delivered... two of our team were out of town making parents of one lucky couple... phones were ringing off the hook... an attorney's office upstairs called to ask us to come help a woman asking them how to make adoption plans for her coming baby... calls were set up for prospective matches... medical crises were (hopefully) averted... a half dozen new birthparent packets were sent out to interested callers... a Compact approval was received... as another family hunkered down with a newborn for whom tribal laws require special handling of paperwork... final preparations were made for this weekend's "Mommy Mayhem Elite Retreat" in the Smokey Mountains... a birthmama who placed many years ago called about reconnecting with her child and his family... and a loving home was sought for a due-anyday baby-on-the-way! It's shaping up to be a busy, busy spring season here in AbrazoLand... just the way we like 'it! :)

Could it be that this is about the latest Nursery Angel? Ooo, I so hope a family is ready to welcome this baby and his/her Momma into their hearts...soon!

Lifting up this Mom and her baby, the family God has intended, whomever they may be, and the Abrazo Ladies and their mission......

Angela is busy trying to obtain homestudies and updates on the folks outside of Abrazo's program who have expressed interest, in hopes of getting some options in place for the baby's mother before she delivers... but it's a race against the clock, because she's at due date, and reportedly feeling some contractions...!! Thank you to all who have contributed to the quest to help turn up possible families for the coming little one.

A little bird tells us our mama-in-waiting delivered by C-section today, for those of you who have been keeping her and her coming babe in your prayers. We don't have all the needed documentation from any of the interested families yet, but we remain hopeful that we will get everything in, in time to help place her precious child in a loving and ready home very soon, if that still feels like the "right" plan to his firstmother!

  • 3 weeks later...

Thank you all for your prayers on behalf of Baby Thomas, who is now home with his loving new parents and two proud big brothers. We are certain that the success of his placement was due in no small part to your support!

This week our agency also began options counseling with a young Anglo-Caucasian mother, who was wanting to know if Abrazo currently has any waiting families who might be open to adopting her two-year-old son. This is likely to be an "immediate placement" kind of situation, as she does not wish for him to go into a foster home before an adoptive family is available.

If you are presently a Parent-in-Waiting with Abrazo and wish for Angela to contact you with further information on this placement possibility next week, please send a PM (private message) to Stork Central over this weekend. Thank you!

We are lifting up this little boy and his precious mom. May they both find the peace they so deserve.

I surely pray many of our wonderful PIW's have submitted themselves for this special situation. Our daughter is almost 2, and it is a magical age.

According to Abrazo's staff, this mother spoke with three of our interested families this week, and we are waiting to find out if/how she wishes to proceed. Thank you all for keeping mother and child in your prayers, whatever decisions are made in the end.
