  1. We are working on showing Mitchell how to pray. In a book club at our church one of the ladies who was leading the group suggested that we try spontaneous prayer with our children in addition to bedtime prayer. I have started initiating a morning prayer as Kenneth and Mitchell are walking out the door. We have about 2 seconds, so it consists of a group hug with heads together and whatever is on our minds at the moment, "good day, safe drive, mommy have a nice run etc.." Mitchell always says "Amen!!!" I am also trying to pray out loud with him in the car while we are driving or right before we go into day care. He has caught on to it and bows his head (sometimes) and waits for the amen. Even though he can't really talk much, I know he understands my words and will catch on that I pray from my heart and whatever is on my mind is what I share with God. I think the repetition and memorized prayers and verses are equally as important. We are just starting to read him the catechism questions from our church. Presbyterians do less of the memorization and more of the spontaneous prayer so I will have to work on this area more. I want Mitchell to have God's word hidden in his heart. On the plus side it is teaching me a lot too! Parenting is such a fun job. Mary
  2. Hey Everyone, Just wanted y'all to know I put some pictures of baby Mitchell on the gallery. It's on page five (so you don't have to look too long). I'm a bit biased, but I think he's a really cute boy! K
  3. Dear Tennison's, thank you for the compliment on AnaMarie. Terelyn has essentially retired from the call of chaplains for the near future. Yes, we have made our reservations to attend Camp Abrazo this year. Look forward to our first attendance at this glorious reunion. Please let us know when you are in San Antonio so we can have you over for a visit. Terelyn & Jose 31932[/snapback] I agree, AnaMarie is a doll. It is nice to know all 12 of us have our babies. Abrazo babes are the cutest ever! M
  4. Thanks Mike and Stacey, I have to look for the DDSJ link too...? I guess it is put in the 2005 folder. Thanks for checking up on us. We are having fun bonding with our little one here in San Antonio. He is soooo adorable. Mary and Kenneth
  5. It is good to see all of the Storkjackers on the forum. Thanks for all of the well wishes. We are still in San Antonio in my brother-in-law's aunt's house. She has married and moved to Blanco, TX so we have lucked out and are in her empty house right near Abrazo! We are doing well. We are tired from feeding every three hours, but Mitchell is doing great. We took treats back to the hospital nursery staff tonight and they weighed him and he is 1oz from his birth weight! His eating volume has doubled and he is really snuggly! Kenneth has posted some pics in the gallery, but we plan to go to the Alamo tomorrow and take more pics so keep a look out. Mary
  6. Kenneth is pulling away from the t-mobile place now so I have to type quick. We have had a time finding internet in San Antonio. All of the starbucks are changing to t-mobile hot spots.... Anyway, thanks for all of the congratulations. We are so happy we don't know what to say. Baby Mitchell Lafayette was born 2/27/06 6lbs 2 oz and 21 inches! We are still at the hospital trying to make sure he eats enough but he is otherwise healthy. We are hoping to meet the birthmom this week, but she is nervous to meet us. Posting pics tonight...must get back to hold our little one now. Mary
  7. Congratulations Dan and Michelle!!! Another baby girl is born. That is so exciting and so close to Mike and Stacey's baby. You guys are going to have so much fun! Pictures and a name when you get time. Mary and Kenneth
  8. What wonderful news! Congratulations Mike and Stacey. The Stork Jackers are hanging in there for the right match. I can't wait to see pictures of all of these little ones. Mary
  9. Wow!! You don't log on for a day and look what happens. Congratulations to the Brewer family!! We would love some pictures. Mary and Kenneth
  10. Andrea and Marjory, We have been working on a name list and it is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I don't think I have any that fit this new requirement either! We can brainstorm together. Maybe the Memphis group can get together in a few weeks too and Marjory and I can hold these little boys! Mary
  11. Hey guys - Congratulations! Wow, that was quick! We are so excited for y'all. Let us know how it's going once you get settled in. You're in our thoughts and prayers.
