  1. My heart is soaring!! Congratulations Ric and Teresa! I am so excited and praising God for the wonderful miracle in your life! Praying also for his first family. Warning: I can not wait until the Memphis reunion to hold your little one. He may not want to snuggle by then!
  2. Congratulations Mark and Erin!! Thankful for many answered prayers. Continued prayers for your daughter as she grows and for her first family.
  3. In talking with some forum buddies, I was reminded of instances where Abrazo has gone the extra mile. We all know adoption is not a 9 to 5 job, but the Abrazo chicks seem to work round the clock. And once you adopt or place with Abrazo, you are not just a client, you are family. Are they perfect? no. Will you experience frustration in your journey? yes. But they are experienced, and they know what they are doing. They have a wealth of compassion for moms (and dads) who make the choice to place. And, though it may not be welcome at the time, they have a great deal of wisdom and experience to offer those who are hoping to adopt. Here is a place to "toot their horn" and share your experiences of when Abrazo has gone the extra mile with you in your journey.
  4. My heart breaks for this family and the little boy they shared. I'm so sad for them. May the God of comfort and peace be near to them in their devastating grief.
  5. That was one of my favorite quotes out of The Shack as well.
  6. The Yetties are on a roll!! Congratulations to the newest family and special prayers for this little girl's first momma.
  7. How ironic that you would post this. Once Grace was finally released from the hospital today (after some delays) we were driving to the hotel and we passed a Luthern Church...the sign out front read "God's timing is perfect." That it is...that it is. Be still my heart...Grace and Lydia share the same birthday! Just two years apart. What an awesome day! I love reading your story on the 3 X 5 thread and can "hear" you sharing it. Also, congrats to Nicole, Raj, and Rocco!
  8. I got chills reading this particular birth announcement. I know all Abrazo families are deserving of this kind of blessing, but it does my heart oh so good to know that the incredible and wonderful Steadman family has grown to include a precious baby girl. I know she will be doted on by her big sisters and big brother Gavin...not to mention mom, dad, and grandparents. Special prayers for the loving momma who chose one of the best of the best families for her daughter and herself! I can not wait to meet this little darling in person!!

Welcome leathersfamily...I went to college in Jackson, and we have lots of good folks from TN area!!! The adoption journey is a roller coaster ride...full of highs and lows, twist and turns, and many moments that turn your stomach upside down as well as those that take your breath away. But all of us who have been blessed to adopt will tell you that we wouldn't change anything that led us to our children and taught us so much along the way.
  10. Congrats to two Yetties and two Mid-South families!! Hope to see both families at our Mid-South Abrazo reunion in Memphis on August 29 and meet your precious babies! Saying prayers also for the birthparents.
  11. After looking thru some baby books and meanings, Lathan was one of the names that stuck out, we had never heard it(but I'm sure there are millions named this., lol) and the meaning of Lathan is "gift from god". And this is exactly what Lathan is. And definitely it was in "god's timing" not ours. Blessings and prayers to all the PIW, Tracey That's cool Tracey. When I read your post I thought, "That's odd. I thought Nathan meant "gift from God" or "God has given." Nathan is Joshua's middle name because of it's meaning. I looked up Lathan, and the website said it was a form of Nathan. Well, duh! I love the name Lathan...different, meaningful, and very cool sounding!! Can't wait to hold that little cutie!
  12. Congratulations Tara and Eric...so glad you "stuck" around!! Y'all had a bumpy road too, but I know Hugo was worth it all!! Many blessings to you!
  13. There are not even words to express how excited I am for Tracey and Denver right now. They have been so faithful through all the ups and downs!! Can't wait to hold this little fella in August (before Melissa gets to him!) Congratulations!!
  14. Sitting on the edge of my seat for each continuation....but this one really leaves us hanging. I agree with everyone, Mari, you definitely have a gift for writing. And what a gift you are giving us...such an in-depth look at your personal journey. Thank you.
  15. I've said this same thing...though not so eloquently...many times!! Thanks for sharing/reminding! (and welcome to the forum!)
  16. Mari, I second what Lisa said. You have said nothing offensive in your posts. And you do not have to apologize for writing how you feel. We are all in this together, and we are all learning. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. Susan
  17. Mari, Thank you so much for sharing your heart and thoughts with us. Susan
  18. Congratulations Kristin and welcome to the forum. You and your family are the answer to so many prayers as I know Max and his first family are the answer to your prayers. I hope to hear more from you in the future (you know, in your "spare" time! )
  19. Just read in the April 26 issue of parade this story about hunkie Hugh Jackman who has two children via adoption.
  20. What a fighter! God bless you Mrs. Steadman! Thanks for sharing this wonderful news!
  21. There are no words to express the sorrow of such a loss as this. Bridget and Lucas, I pray that God will strengthen and comfort you in your sadness and give you peace.
  22. Congratulations to Noah's new family...and prayers for all who love him.
  23. I am especially excited for this family because 1. we were with them when they began their first journey and know that they are some of the best people you'll ever meet and 2. because our own Joshua prayed and longed for a baby brother or sister for almost as long as their Joshua and his heart's desire became a dream come true. A little sister stole his heart as I know your little girl will...and the joy of watching them together is beyond imagination or words!! Blessings and love to the newest family of 4!! Larry, Susan, Joshua, and Lydia
  24. Congratulations Jason and Jen! I'm so excited for you! Praying for peace and comfort for your son's first mom, and many happy moments together.
