  1. What weekends will orientations be this year?
  2. Welcome Cathy!! The best advise I can give is to follow your gut. We decided to work with Abrazo 2 years ago this month and now have two beautiful children (ages 22 months and 7 months)! I knew just from the first talk with Angi that Abrazo was for us. If you would like to talk please feel free to private message me!
  3. Jeri passed away on saturday September 27. Please keep her husband Daryl and son Brady in your prayers. If you have a chance please check out Jeri's caring bridge website, it will show what a special person Jeri was and how she touched so many lives. http://www.caringbridge.org/tx/jerifromkaty/
  4. I received this e-mail this morning! Praise God!!! "SHE'S OUT OF SURGERY AND HER HEART IS ALREADY BEATING ON ITS OWN--NO MACHINE!!!!! SHE IS ON THE VENTILATOR, BUT THE DOCTORS SAY THAT IS NORMAL. PRAISES AND ALL GLORY TO GOD!!! PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR HER HEALING. THE NEXT 24-48 HOURS ARE THE MOST CRITICAL. AGREE IN PRAYER FOR PSALM 86:1-13. YOU GO GOD!!!!!!!!!!" If you would like to keep updated on Jeri's progress please check out her website http://www.caringbridge.org/tx/jerifromkaty/guestbook.html
  5. UPDATE They have found another set of organs for Jeri and are planning on operating at 10 PM CT. They still have to make the final determination of compatibility but the doctors have told Daryl that her chances of surviving without the new set of organs are almost 0%. The surgery will be quicker, about 5 hours but of course operating a second time puts a lot stress on her body. Please continue to prayer for Jeri
  6. Awesome news!! 12:20 p.m. central time Jeri is out of surgery and the doctors say everything has gone very well. GLORY TO GOD!!!!!!! Keep praying for her recovery and acceptance of these organs. Thank you to all of you who have kept Jeri in your prayers! I just found out today that Jeri is an adoptive mom! Isn't awesome how small and wonderful our world is!!!
  7. I am asking all us forumites to lift up in prayer a fellow church memeber of mine. Her name is Jeri Paholek, she is in surgery NOW for a heart and lung transplant. Lord, we come before You as the Master Surgeon. Guide the doctors hands and mind. Keep the entire medical staff very alert and attentive to every detail of Jeri's operation and care. Provide safety for every single family member flying into California right now. Father, cause Jeri's body to accept these organs as her very own. Give everyone peace and mindfulness of Your presence with them. And Holy Spirit, go and wrap Yourself around this family that is grieving now and show Yourself mightily to them as they pass through this valley. Comfort them as only You can. In Jesus name, Amen. 8. Welcome Cakemaker! I also have "unexplained infertility" and we are now the proud parents of a 18 month old son and a 3 month old daughter. Without Abrazo (and our wonderful birthparents) we would not have our beautiful children. So the answer is yes unexplained infertility did qualify us. I would say give Angela a call and she can answer your questions. Abrazo is a wonderful agency
  9. This special family has always and will always remain in my prayers! We are so happy for M, M, and new baby girl! We can't wait to hear all about her! Much Love- Doug, Jennifer, Miller, & Delaney
  10. Welcome Michelle and Jose!!!! I am Jennifer and my husband and I have adopted two children from Abrazo in the last 18 months. Remember its not if...but when!
  11. I promised to keep everyone updated! It has been a little over six months since my last post and things could not be better. Miller is now 16 months old and Delaney is 6 weeks old! It is a lot easier than I thought it would be to have two in diapers! I would not change a thing about the timing, it was meant to be!
  12. Congratulations to fellow Fabulous Sixpackers! I can't wait to hear who it is!

  20. Hi all- Just wanted to give an update. We attended October's orientation and it was great! We are so ready to this again, the timing is right . We have even spoke with a birthmom, only 6 days after orientation. She is wonderful and we hope that everything just falls into place. I'll keep all of you posted on how things are! Miller's mommy
  21. "I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord." 1 Samuel 1:27-28 This verse has so much meaning to us. We used it for our son's dedication and also have it framed and hung outside his bedroom door. There is not a day that goes by that we do not thank God for Miller and his birthmom. Miller's mommy
  22. Thank you all for your support. Does anyone know when the winter orientation will be for sure? Do we have to attend again? Do we ahve to redo our physicals? We would like to be prepared the best we can. We will keep everyone up to date with our plans.
  23. Thank you all for your support! We took placement of our son Miller in just 7 weeks after orientation. We aren't sure of getting on that rollar coaster ride with a one year old, since we didn't have one with Miller's placement, we don't know what to expect. Both our families are supportive of us starting the process when Miller's a year.
  24. Our son is 7 months and we are thinking of starting the adoption process again when he is a year. We would like our children close in age (1 or 2 years apart). Has anyone adopted within a few years? How did it all work out? How close are your children?
