Thank you all...this has been a week we will never forget. And thanks to Elizabeth for her guidance and calmness when emotions run high. I am going to have Elizabeth's annoucement on the forum framed for Graceanne's nursery. We did not realize until we read then announcement that Tuesday's child is full of Grace. I have heard that poem hundreds of times but as we were deciding on her name the morning she was born, it did not occur to us. Thanks for reminding me, Elizabeth... Still trying to figure out how to post pictures...its not letting me create an album. Boo.

Welcome to the forum, Amy...and to our Abrazo family. Thanks for sharing your thoughts...your point about the importance of both the"First Mother" and the "Adoptive Mother" remind me of this poem (Author Unknown)that I found when I first began on our journey to open adoption. In part it reads, ...Two different lives, shaped to make one... One became your guiding star, the other became your sun. ...Heredity or environment, which are you the product of? Neither, my darling, neither. Just two different kinds of love. Like some of my First Grade students say, "ALIKE...but just different!" Keep us posted...we are all in this together!

Packet in the mail today....Can I get a WOOT WOOT?!?

Hey yall. Update on us: We spoke with one of the nice Abrazo ladies who said that if we get our packet in this week, we can still be considered for the June/July Orientation. So you know what THAT means? We got into high gear and got it completed, copied, and ready to go. Will put it in the mail tomorrow. Hoping and Praying we still have a shot.

Do the doc letter and 3 reference letters need to go directly to Abrazo?? If so, Uh-ooooh. I am having them sent to me so I can send them in all together in the packet. Did I already screw up? Good idea to call and try to get an idea for a deadline for our app if we need to come to the June/July orientation. May get Ross to do that in the morning. OK, so I'm still confused (don't be surprised)...After we send in this packet, we will get another one with the orientation invitation?

So Amy...you are currently working on the big packet? Hoping to get to an Orientation this summer? We're gonna tackle this thing and get it in ASAP. I am assuming we have to turn in this packet before they firm up a date for the orientation? Is that how it works? We are in the paper gathering phase for our homestudy, too. Good thing is that we are both teachers and we are out for the summer so we are not going to let this app. gather dust! I'm ready to get it back in. Hope I can knock out a big chunk tomorrow. Hey Y'all! We got our inquiry application approved in 3 weeks and so now we are moving on the the "bigger application" packet. We're moving right alooooong . Hope to meet you soon at an Orientation. Maybe end of June, beginning of July?

Hi Amy, We are in Northwest Louisiana, Shreveport to be exact. Yes, we are hoping to attend an orientation this summer at some point.
