  3. Congratulations to all who love these sweet baby girls!
  4. Just wanted to share a few thoughts on this topic! Our first son was sixteen months when our second was born so he wasn't even at the age to understand anything about having a new baby possibly coming. He was not very verbal at the time and looking back he was still a baby himself! It worked out for us to have a relative come with us to Texas. She stayed with Luke in the hotel while we went and met M the day before her induction. I was SO happy we were alone with her that first time... it was in a restaurant and it would have been SO stressful trying to manage a toddler and get to know her! The next day we went to the hospital at M's request and still Luke stayed with our relative all day in the hotel and they did their own thing. It was so freeing for us to be able to concentrate on M and not worry knowing our child was safe and sound back at the hotel. The day after delivery M specifically asked us to bring Luke to meet her and the girls. We did and we had about a 20 minute visit. It was just the right amount for her to see him, see him interact with us but not totally wear anyone out!! Luke was totally clueless about why he was even there which was sort of a blessing in a way!! After placement we did get to spend more time together as families. But at that point it was less stressful and we enjoyed that time of seeing Luke looking at Andrew and the girls enjoyed getting to know both their new brothers (sometimes I think they forget Luke is not their biological brother too!).
  5. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are set to introduced a new addition to their growing family. Woman's Day can reveal that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are adopting a two-year-old boy from war-torn Syria. After months of top-secret negations, the couple, who already have three adopted children from third-world backgrounds in addition to three biological children, will welcome little Moussa to their growing brood. The toddler is currently marooned in the Altinozu refugee camp in Turkey, but will soon live a life of luxury. It was during one of Ange's visits to the camp in her role as a United Nations ambassador for refugees and displaced people earlier this year that she first met "adorable" Moussa.
  6. I tried to attach an article but couldn't get it to work. I just read that the Jolie-Pitts are adopting from Syria. I had no idea it was an open country for adoption.
  7. Someone sent this to me recently and it made me tear up. My babies are growing up too fast!
  8. Congratulations to the newest expanded families!
  9. This is just so horribly sad.
  10. Congratulations! The very best things are worth the wait!
  11. Merae, I hope you have a wonderful and refreshing time out with Scott Friday night! You are such a caring person and I have no doubt you are going to do everything within your power to support and be there for the baby's expectant mom. We all make mistakes (of course!) but you come from a place of honesty and genuine care for others and I know you will be a blessing to her in that emotional time. One day, one hour, one minute at a time! God will give you wisdom in the moment you need it. You are in my prayers! Take care of yourself and I hope you feel support from afar! xoxox
  12. She is heading to Baylor, which I believe is several hours from where they live! I would love the title if you find it! I did buy one cute book of inspirational quotes. It is just a huge deal she is taking this step so we want to do something! Just so hard thinking out of the money-for-graduation box!
  13. I would love some input! We have a very special birth sister graduating high school next month! I know the normal graduation gifts are money or gift cards... but since (as I understand) they are off the table... any ideas for a high school graduate? We will be visiting next month but we'd like to get her something tangible for this huge accomplishment!
  14. I read the forum on my phone but I don't like posting on it! If it is more than a few sentences I like to use my computer!
  15. Merae, I am so sad to hear of this loss. Thinking of you all. Prayers of comfort for you, Monica, and David's family.
  16. So sad to hear this news. He was there both times we finalized and in all our pictures! Thoughts and prayers for his family and those close to him.
  17. Welcome! We will look forward to seeing where your journey takes you!
  18. Bumping for Mari... there are some suggestions in this thread!
