  2. Congrats! Welcome to the world sweet boy.
  3. Well, we've decided to dress up (Halloween Style) for dinner on River.... Have part of my costume, head piece and eyelashes.. But better get moving on the dress or I'm in trouble..
  4. These last two months have been busy... August brought my family 4 bdays and the start of school, all beautiful milestones.. This month we started off with more bdays and will finish with bdays, 4 more... My mom hit her 81st bday last week, and even though she has been dealing with a bad case of arthritis since Jan. she is doing well and not letting it keep her down.. She's a tough cookie, I want that strength when I grow up .. Can't believe we are almost to Christmas again and the next three months are just as busy with more bdays and holidays.. I'm slacking this year, should be almost done with my x-mas shopping and I haven't even started, ugh!! Not sure where I took a detour, better get moving or I'll be behind the 8 ball.. I have been starting to feel the giant TEXAS size butterflies in the pit of my stomach.. Next month we will be hitting the exact dates/days my baby girl almost lost her life. Six years and the overwhelming memories/feelings are as strong as ever...... Every year since, on that anniv. we make it a point to do something fun.. this year I plan on taking both the 30 & 31 off of work and spend time with her and as a family, we are planning to have dinner on the Riverwalk on Halloween... BUT no matter what, EACH YEAR (and day) are also a REMINDER of HOW BLESSED and GRATEFUL WE ARE to still have not one but two fierce and strong fighting Warriors in our life, thanks be to GOD!
  5. What a blessed week... My grandbaby started kinder on Monday.. Can't believe it's that time already... My god-daughter started first grade, god-son started third grade and today my baby girl started her Junior Year at UTSA... My cup runeth over... Prayers that they all have a successful year of learning..
  6. Congrats to the newest forever family.
  7. Nice encouraging words.. Be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and pleasing and perfect. — Romans 12:2
  8. We just saw my first born baby girl off at the airport for her flight home..These times are always the hardest for me, you'd think after eleven plus years I'd be used to it, but I'm not. . Did enjoy having her here the last 4 1/2 days, listening to my girls laugh and talk late LATE into the nights was music to my ears. Gonna miss that..
  9. Thank you Leslie.. Here is something else that I've read and which has made me stop and ponder life's speed bumps and rollercoasters at times. Though it is not always a race per se any of you/us may be in, the metaphor is the same for any situation in life where we find a challenge or at times struggles, be it a failed match, a birth mother dealing with the reality that their child’s family didn’t keep their promise of openness/communication, one’s health, or _____________ fill in the blank as it applies to you the reader of this. The Race Defeat! He lay there silently, a tear dropped from his eye," There's no sense running anymore- three strikes and I'm out- why try?" The will to rise has disappeared, all hope had fled away, so far behind, so error prone, closer all the way. "I've lost, so what's the use," he thought "I'll live with my disgrace." But then he thought about his dad who soon he'd have to face. Get up, and echo sounded low, get up and take your place. You were not meant for failure here, so get up and win the race. With Borrowed will, "Get up!", It said, "You haven't lost at all, for winning is not more than this, to rise each time you fall." So he rose to win once more, and with new commitment he resolved to win or lose, at least he wouldn't quit. So far behind the others now, the most he'd ever been, still he gave it all he had, and ran as though to win. Three times he'd fallen stumbling, three times he rose again. To far behind to hope to win, he still ran to the end. They cheered the winning runner as he crossed. First place, head high and proud and happy, no falling, no disgrace. But when the fallen youngster crossed the line, last place, the crowd gave him the greater cheer for finishing the race. And even though he came in last, with head bow low, unproud. You would have thought he won the race, to listen to the crowd. And to his dad he sadly said, "I didn't do so well." To me, you won, his father said, you rose each time you fell. And now when things seem dark and hard and difficult to face, the memory of that little boy helps me in my own race. For all of life is like that race, with ups and downs and all. And all you have to do to win is rise each time you fall. "Quit! Give up you're beaten," they will shout in my face. But another voice within me says, "Get up and win that race!" Author Unknown
  10. Stork, Glad you posted Oprah's wise words here, I shared yesterday on my FB thinking of All who are in need of these words. Prayers for all
  11. For all who may be in need of some encouragement.. MASTER PLAN There is never a moment in life That we don’t need God standing by; He is the answer we’re seeking When we ask the question “Why?” It’s all a matter of faith, The faith that allows you to pause And remember the full importance And immutability of God’s laws. He’s standing there beside you, And in faith you can always see That God has a plan for forever Though its unknown by you and me; So with Him in control you can focus On performing as well as you can The duties he wants you to handle While He handles the master plan. B. Killebrew
  12. Thinking of and praying for a mama and her baby boy.. God I'm sure she needs your strength, I pray she feels you cradling her and her son. Prayers also for all who they have brought together in love.

  15. I just finished listening to an audio book called “Why I Stayed” by Gayle Haggard.. I knew nothing about her, her family, the struggles, the life she had, but for some reason the book just caught my eye and I decided to check it out.. Wow, I had a hard time putting it away! The book is full of scripture, many of the verses are verses that I have often read and heard, but hearing them along with her story made/allowed me to find different meaning in many. Feeling ostracized from “Christian” people is a feeling I’ve known, but not to the degree that she had it happen to her. I’m still trying to sort through the emotions and the thoughts that listening to her book brought up to the surface, but one thing is for sure I will ALWAYS continue to thank God for the few good friends that have stuck around.
  16. Watching Joel Osteen right now.. What great message for folks who are feeling discouraged.
  17. Tiny Footprints These are my footprints, so perfect and so small. These tiny footprints never touched the ground at all. Not one tiny footprint, for now I have wings. These tiny footprints were meant for other things. You will hear my tiny footprints, in the patter of the rain. Gentle drops like angel's tears, of joy and not from pain. You will see my tiny footprints, in each butterflies' lazy dance. I'll let you know I'm with you, if you just give me that chance. You will see my tiny footprints, in the rustle of the leaves. I will whisper names into the wind, and call each one that grieves. Most of all, these tiny footprints are found on the hearts of all who love me. 'Cause even though I'm gone now, We'll never truly part.
  18. It is disturbing, here last week a young father (early 20s)was arrested, he left his almost 1 yr old in the bath water while he went to make a drug deal.. Baby drowned, he claimed to step away for a minute to get her some clothes.. It's just heart breaking what kids are subjected to at the hands of their parents or other adults that are supposed to protect them.
  19. Duh, getting him help would have been the ideal solution… Where was their common sense! http://www.mysanantonio.com/news/texas/article/Police-Couple-kept-son-locked-away-for-years-5583986.php#item-30501
  20. “Floating about the forum, dipping into everyone's stories here and there.” See, that’s a good start, here I picture a bee or maybe a butterfly going from flower to flower.. haha, just thought of something..Of course some can look at it also as sticking my nose in others business,.. Eventually I will and I sure want to have some control on what is said .. Have to plan and think ahead....My spouse is long winded and gets off track too easily, plus this would make my girls job so much easier, something to keep them laughing (at my expense as usual) and giving each other that "mom's gone nuts" look and rolling their eyes.. I plan on laminating it and putting it in my safe until it’s needed, of course I need to buy a safe first .. Or hey, it can be used when I celebrate my 60th bday, oh wait….no that’s not too far away, maybe a milestone one… 75th bday, yeah that’s better, that gives me more time.. So we could replace eulogy with tribute I wouldn’t mind living to 100 if I was in fairly good health and not a burden to my girls.. We can hope though right? Hugs to ya...
  21. I’ve wonder one tooooooo many times what would be said about me at my funeral.. Trying to picture my Eulogy is hard because I sometimes wonder “who am I really?” (morbid I know)… I really don’t hang out with anyone on a regular bases, don’t chit chat on the phone, and really other then with family don’t socialize often or on a regular bases..Guess I just pretty much keep to myself, kinda boring, and a homebody.. So different then I was as a teen and young adult, at this point my daughters at least my youngest would say “because your OLD ma!”…yes can hear her now, those words ringing in my ears, kinda like my TMJ BUUTTTT I think I may have found a pliable solution… Yeah doggie, I think I’m going to have Laney write it! Laney with your sense of humor you will be able to make me sound FUN, friendly, outgoing, nice, compassionate, wise, yes and even perfectionist (which I don’t agree with but that’s what I’m told I am)with high expectations..Baloney to me but have to take the good with the bad in order to make me well rounded ....All those adjectives that I know you will be able to interlace with humor.. Oh and let’s not forget an AWESOME grandma (Nana)… We will have to get together one day over some wine and discuss, though I prefer beer to wine, somehow saying get together over some beer doesn’t sound very sophisticated for women like with men “let’s get together and discuss over a few beers hahaha”… We can round up a few more ladies to give their two cents worth and see what you can come up with.. what doya think? You game?? Ay yayay one of those days
