Congratulations to the newest Abrazo family!
-
I love it when God lets us in on what he had planned all along. Congratulations to Colin's family adoptive and birth as they will function as one that loves and supports one tiny little boy. It's beyond wonderful and a story I can identify with in so many ways.

It's a beautiful day in the Abrazo families' neighborhood. Congratulations to all the new families and triads that have gotten off to a wonderful start.
-
Congratulations and may God bless each and every one.

A Mother's Day blessing is doubly blessed because it is an open adoption with lifelong commitment. Congratulations to all the members of this newly formed expanded family.

Congratulations to the newest againer Abrazo family! I love the facebook post and the the "God Effect" that brought the two families together.
Interestingly enough, I joined the Abrazo Forum just two days before Nathan was born. I wouldn't know about him for several weeks, but I know God led me to become a part of this community and without a doubt to be Nathan's mom. The same is true for you, Kristin. SO cool.

Congratulations to all of the family members and welcome to little Amelia!

Congratulations to the newest Abrazo mommy, mommy, daddy, daddy, and precious little one who is the reason for the two families to come together.

The photos reflect the loving, beautiful person D'Nola was. She will be missed by many. May God hold Bruce, Pat, Karen, Scott, and the girls close in this, a most difficult time.

Sometimes, in the madness of today's world, it's easy to forget that there really is Someone in charge, but every so often, we can't help but be reminded that there really is a greater plan, even when we can't fathom it in advance...
Last spring, Abrazo was blessed by the arrival of some "'Tweeners", those rare folks who come into our program between (or without the benefit of) orientations. One of these couples was from Pennsylvania: a childless pastor and his wife who had been referred here by another pastor and his wife who adopted through Abrazo a few years back.
Last autumn, they began talking with an expectant mom who inexplicably disappeared from their lives before the holidays (without reason nor explanation), which surely left them to wonder as they wandered through an Advent season that is, of course, all about a baby?
But on the twelfth day of Christmas, unbeknownst to them, God sent a very special gift into the world, in San Antonio of all places! And on the eve of the very Sunday that most Christian churches celebrate Epiphany (commemorating the actual arrival of the Magi in Bethlehem), these faithful servants got The Call telling them it was time for them, too, to embark on a journey to foreign lands... for a young, unmarried mother had delivered a child, and they'd been chosen to be her parents!
They promptly flew to San Antonio last night, despite snow flurry delays in Dallas, and were at Abrazo's offices first thing this morning, to complete the paperwork enabling them to become a family, at last. What a glorious start to the New Year! May God richly bless this new family-- and the mother who made it possible-- and may God smile upon all of Abrazo's waiting families, as well as the dear parents-still-waiting-to-find them, in the bright and beautiful year that lies ahead. Blessings, all!
What a beautiful announcement, Elizabeth. And it is such a beautiful reason that you placed fingers upon a keyboard to announce the building of Abrazo's newest family. Congratulations to the new parents and birthmom. May this be the beginning of a life long connection and love.

The news of D'Nola's passing saddens me greatly as she was one of those vibrant people who touch lives where ever they go. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to meet and talk with her. She had the most wonderful smile and attitude about life. She mentioned a book she had been reading about living and dying. She was a realist and savored every minute of life. I know that many will miss this great lady, and I am one of them. Thank you God for engineering the crossing of paths with this very special woman and her lovely family. I am better for having known her. There is a beautiful new angel in heaven tonight. We will miss you D'Nola.

May God comfort all who knew and loved Stacey and may she truly be her wonderful, brilliant self again in heaven

Ryan & I had to break the news to his 16 yo daughter about our adoption plan. We didn't expect anything negative but with teenage girls & their emotions you never know... Anyway, Ryan was so nervous. We took her out to dinner to tell her. He told her how we had discussed adoption from the very beginning of engagement & we have decided that now is the time. She quickly looks up from her smartphone from which she was texting and says, "Oh, like on MTV's '16 & Pregnant'? They did an open adoption where all the families knew each other & hung out & it was cool."
So there you have it, just tune into MTV & they will do the legwork for you. Oh, and yes, she was excited & even joked about when she becomes a big sister, she will tell the baby, you know I'M really your mom! Having 2 BFFs who are adoptees of open adoptions, I have seen the positive effects & know this is the best choice for our family.
What a wonderful response to your news! Built in babysitter, I'd say.

Congratulations to the newest Abrazo family!

Hi Amy,
Welcome to the Abrazo Forum. It is, as you have found, a source of information and support for everyone who decides to come in. I am glad that you have decided to come in and share. I have found that adoptive and first parents can learn an awful lot from each other which benefits the most important members of the triad, our children. Abrazo is more than just an adoption agency. It is a huge family full of the most wonderful people. I hope to hear more of your thoughts as time goes on. Your thoughts are of particular interest to me as my son's first mother has chosen not to have contact yet. May God bless you and your family as you make this journey.

I personally was thrilled to come home today to be greated by the beautiful picture of a new mom and her beautiful baby boy. I thought of the love and joy the two would have and thought of my son and I. Perhaps the single parent household is not ideal, but there's no denying that there is love and a genuine desire to parent. Be that right or wrong, my heart sang to see another baby boy of color being wanted and loved whole heartedly.

It's absolutely official. Abrazo helps to create the best families!

A week full of blessings, sacrifices, and love. Wishing all of the new families heartfelt best wishes, care and understanding as they begin their lives as family expanded.

Christmas 2009 is one to be remembered as the newest Abrazo family gets to know each other. May the bonds grow strong as the each part of the triad lives, laughs, and loves together. Merry Christmas!

Of all of the things I am thankful for in my life, it is the decision of one precious birthmom and the adoption of my precious son. What a beautiful way to remind us all of our blessings and blessed opportunity to revel in the blessings of others. Best wishes to all of the newly formed families complete with their extended families, too.

Amanda,
