  1. I would like to put up a praise to our daughter, Alana / 3 1/2 years. Saturday, she had over 10 inches of hair cut and donated to locks of love. She was so very proud of being able to help another little girl who does not have hair. It brought tears to our eyes to see her beautiful, below her bottom length hair cut to shoulder length, but so worth it and proud of her when she turned to the hairdresser and said. . ."I am beautiful. Thank you!!! And this hair to for another little girl to be beautiful too!!!!!"

    God bless our beautiful angel!

    Love,

    Rhonda

Yes, our prayers are with all on this journey. As our social worker always told us. . .God will part the seas and you will walk through to the end. He does have a plan and His plan is perfect!!!!

  5. A friend sent this to me. . .

    Daily Rules from God

    1. Wake Up!! Decide to have a good day. "Today is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalms 118:24

    2. Dress Up!! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks. "The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart." I Samuel 16:7

    3. Shut Up!! Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have meant for us to do twice as much listening as talking. "He who guards his lips guards his soul." Proverbs 13:3

    4. Stand Up!!... For what you believe in. Stand for something or you will fall for anything.. "Let us not be weary in doing good; for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good..." Galatians 6:9-10

    5. Look Up!!... To the Lord.

"I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

    6. Reach Up!!... For something higher. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, And He will direct your path."

    Proverbs 3:5-6

    7. Lift Up!!... Your Prayers.

"Do not worry about anything; instead PRAY ABOUT EVERYTHING."

    Philippians 4:6

  6. I certainly support the right of either to impose rules and set boundaries about when it is (or isn't) appropriate for communication to occur.

But that, in itself, wouldn't seem to me to justify "closing" the adoption completely/forever, nor would it warrant the hiding of information about the birthparents and/or adoption from the child/ren at the present time:

I agree. In stepping back from a particular situation and seeing what was / is in the best interest of our child, imposing rules / setting boundaries and sticking by them has definitely created a stronger foundation for the still growing relationship; even though our thinking was headed in a different direction. Thanks Elizabeth!!! ;)

  7. We too hope this little angel has found her forever family. She has tugged at our heart strings since we first read the post. This sealed the many discussions we have had regarding the expansion of our family to 5 and how we want to consider a toddler or preschool aged child. Since we have not received any word back regarding this little girl, we know God has His very special plan and she will be with the family He has chosen for her.

    God speed little one.

  8. Okie dokie. . .I need some help. and where better to find it then my forum friends. :)

A friend of mine is in the beginning stages of their adoption journey, and she is asking for recommendations on social workers. Our social worker was/is awesome. She contacted her, but it will be several months before she can begin their homestudy. Does anyone in the Memphis area have a recommendation for a social worker? Penny Gladstein and Ellen Rardin are two I know, but they are the only ones. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks!

  9. Well. . . . biggrin.gif

Our 2nd sweet bundle of joy was born on Sept 13, 2005, 5 lbs 11 oz, 18 inches long, and lovingly placed in our arms by her birthmother and birthbrother on Sept 15, 2005. After we finalized Alana’s adoption in December, we had decided to relax, enjoy parenthood and begin our 2nd adoption journey in January 2006. wink.gif Well, I’m sure God was chuckling at “our” plans as He had plans of his own. To make a long story short. . . a co worker of mine was adopting her first child and I was offering a shoulder/ear for support. She knew we were hoping to adopt again and in conversations with her social worker had mentioned this. The social worker knew of a young birthmother who was having difficulty finding the right adoptive family for her unborn little girl. We fit to a tee the criteria the BP had. They contacted us to see if we were interested, and after much prayer. . . knew in our hearts God was guiding us and said yes. The BP contacted us July 18 and we matched the very same day. After quickly updating our homestudy and getting things organized for a 2nd little one . . .we went to meet our BP and her son, were able to be apart of our daughter’s delivery into the world, and spent 10 wonderful days visiting/bonding with our new extended family. We thank God everyday for both our girls, the wonderful ladies who brought them into the world, and the very special friend who was there for one of them. Borrowing the words from another forum friend. . .God is great, ALL the time!!!!!
