There's not... We were so grateful to see this shared on several Facebook walls, yet nothing came about. (And our February orientation is necessarily being cancelled, because despite our present need for childless couples, we had only one signed up and ready to attend.) But thanks for checking back!

So sad! I shared with our social worker here but she didn't have any childless Hispanic couples she knew of. I hope someone doesn't miss out on a wonderful opportunity and that this mom can find the best family for her baby.

We are pleased to have been able to match the mama referenced above! Thank you for your prayers on her behalf.

-----------

We are presently seeking a home-studied African-American or interracial couple for an expectant mother who is already dilated and expects to deliver a baby girl very soon (and before her due date).

Interested families should email their current homestudies with a Dear Birthparent profile to info@abrazo.org.

Thank you!

Adoption is not just for babies, of course! Abrazo is presently seeking a loving adoptive home for a first grader of Hispanic descent, who has ADHD and vitiligo (loss of skin pigmentation).

He is a sweet child who knows his mom and grandmother need to find him a new family and he would likely do best in a home in which he can be the youngest child, with experienced adoptive parents who embrace openness, understand ADD/ADHD issues, and will honor this child's connections with his birthfamily and commit to annual visits.

If you or someone you know have a homestudy and would be open to this placement opportunity, please contact Stacy Levinson at Abrazo for more information: 210-342-5683.

This will be a La Promesa (special needs) placement. Texas reportedly no longer makes the nonrecurrent state adoption subsidy available in private agency cases, but such funding may still be available to families in other states that offer such assistance.

We need to hear from any homestudy-ready families within Abrazo's program who may be interested in an Anglo-Caucasian baby boy due soon, who will have something called Left Heart Syndrome and possibly double valve intake and other related issues. This infant will likely be delivered early, and will need extended hospitalization and corrective surgeries; Abrazo mat be able to apply for a separate Medicaid policy for this child, to help offset medical costs. (The prospective birthparents are in agreement about the adoption plan and do not feel ready for openness at this time.) The case will qualify for Abrazo's special needs program fees; additional state subsidies outside of Texas may also be available. Contact Abrazo for further information if interested: 210-342-5683.

Abrazo is seeking a wonderful adoptive home for a 14-month-old Anglo girl with hydrocephalus who was a preemie. She does have a shunt already, but she's going to need a family with a lot of patience and optimism to help her reach her full potential. Her teen mom loves her dearly, and wants her to have a nurturing family who can provide her more stability, care and developmental guidance than she herself is able to offer. This will be an open adoption through Abrazo's special needs placement program, so infertility is not a required prerequisite for placement in this case.  If you know a homestudy-ready family who might be interested,  please have them forward their homestudy and adoption profile to our Family Services Coordinator, Amy Byrd (abyrd@abrazo.org.) Thanks, y'all!

Thank you! We are also now seeking homestudy-ready families who would be interested in adopting a four-and-a-half year old Anglo boy. Please submit profiles and homestudies to abyrd@abrazo.org if you'd like to be considered.

We're happy to announce that Abrazo did successfully find a loving home in March/April for the four-year-old boy (above) and his younger brother, who ended up being placed with him... and after many, many months of searching, we are today participating in the placement of the little girl with hydrocephalus, mentioned above.

There IS a loving home out there for every child. Sometimes, it just takes a lot more searching to find families special enough to say "yes" to some of them.
