  11. Mea culpa! We've been so busy doting on our newest baby and her adoring parents in person that we neglected to post the baby announcement, but we couldn't be happier for the sweet baby girl whose birthmama and adoptive parents found each other with the help of another Abrazo birthmom. Friends don't let friends do closed adoptions, and we're so thankful that our community includes folks who truly care about each other. Congrats to our newest new parents, members of Abrazo's Crown Club, and God bless (all) our birthparents, too.
  12. Today’s placement— the first of Abrazo’s 27th year— was a beautiful tribute to faith and fortitude. The adoptive couple, members of the Crown Club 2020, had endured a failed adoption plan last fall, yet didn’t lose faith in the process. The birthmother had endured the loss of her other children previously, yet still wanted a better life for her newborn daughter, even as she knew how much her own sacrifice would hurt. Today, they were joined at placement by her loving sisters and their spouses, and together, they reveled in that precious baby, and the families all cried and laughed and prayed together. May she always know how beloved she is, by all of them!
  13. As All Saints Day approaches, we remember some special members of the Abrazo community who passed away in 2020: We honor the memory of adoptee and Abrazo grandpa BRUCE BERGER, who died of cancer. We honor the memory of Baby Alexander, who was to have been adopted, but was stillborn. We honor the memory of adoptive mother LINDA VENTURA, who never recovered after suffering a cardiac episode. We honor the memory of DAN GILETTE, an adoptive father who passed after a tragic tragic accident at his home. We give thanks for the lives of these and others in our adoption community... May their memory be a blessing, always.
  14. She came to Abrazo only wanting to place with a local couple, because a truly open adoption was her dream for her child. In time, thought, this loving mother elected to choose an out-of-state couple from Abrazo’s Crown Club of 2020 who assured her the distance would never come between them. Today, they made a loving covenant on behalf of the sweet baby boy they all adore, and we wish each of them every joy in their new forever family relationship!
  15. Abrazo's pre-application (called the "AP Inquiry" form) is now available online, for those who wish to download it and begin the application process. If you wish to submit it online, please pay the inquiry fee via PayPal, then email your form and your photo to abyrd@abrazo.org. If you want to print it out and mail it via regular mail or overnight, our office address is 3123 NW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78230. We're always in need of great families for our babies and birthparents, so thank you for your interest in our program!
  16. It took a selfless decision on the part of a loving Texas birthcouple to bring the Hold On, Heather’s Here orientation group of 5/19 to completion, but busy doctors don’t always have the luxury of time when it comes to getting homestudies done and paperwork completed. The two physicians who were the last in their group to take placement never doubted open adoption could work for them, though, so the birthparents and Abrazo are delighted to have successfully made them parents, at long last. Blessings to the beautiful bog they now forever share!
